A little pic heavy but ....who cares ! Took July out with a banger of a close shave. The MMOC is synonymous with a close smooth shave with a new Gem SS blade . Dad's old brush loves Williams and as you can see creates a nice lather. This is about 10 swirls in the mug and 3 on the face . I finish with paint brush strokes and its not thin but yet not pastey. NO blooming involved as my water seems to agree well with everyone's least favorite soap. I wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers. See you in August comrades.

Thank you, Bruce! She really is purdy! I have a small collection (11) of straight razors. It is hard for me to choose one razor to shave because they are all nice. However, I do have my favorites and they happen to be the larger blades.
I find a stiffer bristle(boar) or more backbone like my homemade synthetic really helps to draw the lather out of the puck. On occasion I do add some Aqua Velva to the puck in very small quantities which I believe helps with cooling the skin as the blade glides across. Hope that helps .
July sort of went out with a whimper for me when it came to shaves. My last two shaves: Monday evening July 29 Rockwell 6S on plate 3 / Personna Lab Blue (2) Alpha T400 aluminum prototype brush with 2-band badger knot Stirling Port au Prince soap sample Alum and Polar Ice Booster Good shave cleaning off about 4 days worth of stubble - a short beard really. All gone in two passes. Tuesday morning July 30 - blasphemy shave I had a doctor's appointment for my annual physical. A quick glance in the mirror before I rushed out the door revealed a face that still looked cleanshaven from the previous evening's shave apart from a couple rough patches. So I just did a quick touch up shave - with my Phillips electric. I didn't shave on Wednesday, so my last shave of the month was with an electric. I'm sorry for this backsliding. Please don't revoke my 30DC Membership Card for this blasphemous behaviour. I promise to behave better in August, honest!
