Looking forward to seeing them, Patrick. I will take some pics and post on the brushmakers forum when I turn them- probably end of next week.
Ok. The ‘flavour’ (part deux) is that there is a large cultural, political, social divide in the Western Provinces as compared to the way more populated large centres in the central/east. You see the regionalism at federal election time. Way different voting patterns in the West, especially in rural areas. Rightfully or not, a Long standing belief that the country is controlled by the large provinces of Ontario and Quebec. Very much a heartland/hinterland history. Resources from the west, manufactured in the east, etc. Different settlement patterns as well. Settled mainly after, and in location to, the National Railway completed in the 1880s. Northern and Eastern European farmers on the prairies, a large Asian influence here in British Columbia (British side of the Columbia River originally... ‘54-40 or Fight’ ). BC is the only province west of the Rockies- picture Wash, Oregon and Idaho together- and as such had a large Chinese, East Indian, Etc population. Urban BC (Vancouver area) is probably closer culturally to Seattle than it is to the BC interior. Very much a Pacific Rim culture. I live in the Rocky Mountains near the Alberta border. Alberta across the Mountains always feels it is getting jobbed by the Federal government as it is our largest oil producer... Your states have more power than our provinces do. Probably because your revolution influenced our original constitution around a strong federal system- also often a bone of contention out west.
Thank you Danny. I did post a few pics in July thread. I’ll upload a few and apologize if I duplicated any. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
