Thank you, all! Very nice old school fougere. As always, best if I defer to the fragrance nerds: http://www.basenotes.net/ID26122591.html I really like it. So does Sra. Hurchinson. It's the one fragrance I own that's gotten compliments in public. Alas, there's no Piggly Wiggly in central Indiana, so I can't give it the definitive test without a pretty long road trip.
Looks like a very good setup to work with. Love the Rapiras. Best quality blade at their price point, bar none.
My Arko "puck" is actually the result of grating sticks then compressing them into the Old Spice Mug. I prefer to load the brush rather than use a shave stick (though I do that occasionally) so loading a mug with grated soap and pressing it into a solid works best. It takes about 1.5 Arko sticks to fill the mug completely. Interesting side note - I need to "zest" a lemon for a pork breading mix I was working with the other day and we don't have a grater or zester in the kitchen. I pulled out the grater I bought specifically for shave soaps and used it instead. My wife showed a bit of concern until I assured her I had washed and rinsed it before using it. Although, since I only grate Arko so far, the lemony goodness would have just blended in I suppose. No?
A little weak on that enabling pitch. Cartel style might be more effective. "How about a nice piece and we'll remove the Russian machine gun from your head?" seems a bit more, um, persuasive.
Whew! I am now caught up on the thread. I didn't get a shave in last night due to a long haul out to the center of Illinois, and I doubt one will happen today. So probably nothing to report until tomorrow on that front. However - here are your totals for June and July. June - 6373 July - 7159 We continue to roll ahead with some amazing numbers each month!! Seriously - the total for each month exceeds the combined total for June and July last year. After spending 45 minutes or so catching up from page 12 or 13 today, I can attest to how busy this place is! Thanks again for all you do here and there are some fantastic pictures already this month. Loving the gear, travel pics, family pics, watch pics, and I could just keep adding on. It looked like we might fall behind a bit on day one this month but you guys have us back on pace. July was our 3rd busiest month here and we're going into the busy time of the year. Should be a fun ride. Keep helping those newbies along. Gotta train the new troops so they can train the newer troops, and they can train the newest troops and so on and so on! Have a great rest of your Saturday!!
Well 2cd shave of the day, going to church for a movie night, have no ideal what's up. All I know is that it's not at a movie theater. A quick 1 pass, horse hair brush, Arko, Sharp Star blade, shower to take the sweat off, Master Bay Rum AS. And away we go..... Hope everyone has a great evening. Enjoy tp

Dad's mother spent the last dozen years of her dementia/Alzheimer's with my wife and kids as care takers. She liked to take walks around the neighborhood, but that became a problem when we had to go find her. I'm not looking forward to taking my dad's keys away when he starts forgetting how to get home like his mom. This shift from house phones to carrying a cell is in place for folks under 70 or so. Neither mom nor I can get dad to understand he needs to keep his phone ON, and in his pocket when he drives away from the house. Since the Android had too much of a learning curve/assumed knowledge we're going to look into Cricket phones and the like. "SM"? I'm feeling that itch, too. Any recommendations on a destro style in good to dish water depth immersion? I thought that would narrow the field, but there's quite a few available.
