Rick, your granddaughter made excellent choices to help you get a nice shave! I marvel that she would be interested in wanting to join your shaving ritual.
Happy Anniversary, Jim! You are a lucky man. Maybe you should change your screen name by adding "ky" to become jlucky!
Great shave John! I own the 6C and the Model T and they are wonderful shavers. I use them to headshave and I get the best BBS ever.
Great shave, pic and setup, Terry. I agree that the toughest area is the chin. Also, the mustache area is difficult. I do WTG, ATG and XTG passes to get a nice smooth chin. The trick is to keep the blade flat. Any angle will produce cuts because the skin doesn't give.
August Focus Stirling Piacenza~~Simpson Duke 3~~1947 Gillette SS~~Personna 74~~Acqua di Parma Inspired by @Trigger I opted for the Stirling Piacenza. I purchased this a while back and realized that I have yet to use it. The scent is a close-but-no-cigar dupe of the above-pictured AdP Colonia. Now, that statement should not be construed as a negative. Indeed, the scent is lovely and quite appealing. The CC lather bowl is a first-generation product and it's easy to tell, that the diameter is limited. I did get a really great lather from the bowl and the D3 is lusciously soft on the skin. My razor du jour was the renowned 1947 Gillette Super-Speed, loaded with a lauded Personna 74 Tungsten blade. Employing the Gillette "glide" I performed 2 passes (WTG/XTG) a BBS result was achieved. Chipped/cracked alum... Thayer's Medicated Witch Hazel preceded the pièce de resistance: Acqua di Parma Colonia. Have a great Sunday.
August 4, 2019 Gillette New SC Feather TOBS Super Badger TOBS Mr. Taylors Shave Cream Myrsol Agua Balsamica A change of pass this morning. I decided to take a break from SE razors for a while, so I went with the Rhodium Plated New SC. I was fortunate enough to get this from the BST when @Primotenore moved to SR shaving. My wife surprised me yesterday with a brush, 2 shave creams and 1 shave soap from the Taylor of Old Bond Street store. She picked these up during her recent trip to London. I am really very fortunate that she not only puts up with me but supports my shaving addiction. The little badger brush did a wonderful job whipping up the cream into a rich slick lather. TOBS Sandalwood was my first cream returning to wet shaving in 2014. Mr Taylors scent is a light complex fougère type scent. Three passes and touch ups ended in a near perfect shave. A splash of Myrsol Balsamica followed by Guerlain Vetiver EdT and I am ready for the day. Maya and I are going to drop off her car for new tires and go visit my Mom. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.
Very good shave this morning with the Razorock soap(Aqua Shave Cream/soap). Due to it's name. I realized of course there's a good amount of water in the soap, thus when I added the Stoylin Frost Drops, it suddenly overpowered the soap with water. Had to spill some out. Two passes, and two cuts(both on the second pass). But I'm good and clean for the day. The AV added "fresh" to the previous two adjectives.
I needed a little bay rum this morning. AWESOME shave to get the day started. Hope everyone has a great Sunday!
