This was last night's shave before we went visiting friends from Germany who are in town for a week. Had some delicious German cuisine and some German drinks of all varieties. Sore head today but was well worth it. Ja! Gooten.
  5. I assume that Surge Pricing was not in effect at the time.

  11. If you're in need of a good watch to survive suds in the kitchen sink, these are some good ones. I have the G-Shock, and it keeps almost perfect time. It has been dropped on a tile floor, and it survives weekly abuse from my kiddos. It set me back about $35 on-line. It wears comfortably, cleans up under the sink tap, and lights up like the city of Chicago at night. It's an inexpensive travel watch (took it with me to Israel and didn't have to worry about losing it), and it won't set off the alarms going through security. The F-91W has less armor, wears smaller, and you can get it for about $10. Both are great choices if you can live without the Russian military hardware embellishments.

  14. I spent more than I should have on honing stuff and have still not been successful at getting the edge I want.

If you think about it, you can get one straight honed decently for $25 or so. That would be about the cost of a DE shavette or over a year's supply of blades for the same.

Sometime I just need to know for myself I guess.

FWIW, I'm trying to determine how well I can maintain a straight without actually honing it. But, that ain't cheap either on my current route.
  15. Great picture, Gary!

  16. Hi!
  17. She does. It is fresh, not overpowering, and will not stay too long.

Might win a Turner Stoylin award some day, but it'll never beat Blood on Steel 2019 / Tsuka.

  18. I will be trying that BoS before summer's over, to see if I can handle it in the summer season. As for will it win a Tony.....only the shadow knows.
  19. Unfortunately no. I have had some scheduled rides that did include a surge, though, due to starting at 5 in the morning. Nothing like a quick 25% bonus just for showing up early.
