  1. Thank you Danny. She did a wonderful job picking out the gifts. Having used both the SC and LC, I am not sure I can tell that much difference between the two.

  6. I was a taxi driver for 5 years so I empathize with you. I usually say my goodbye and explain to the customer to get out quickly before I get to the address. Never had any problems.
  7. :thanks:
  8. Adjustable Arko August!!

    August 4

    Razor - 1960 (F4) Gillette Toggle (9)
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Arko
    Brush - BoS Omega 10066
    Post - Alum

Well, boys and girls, that was a weekend. Or should I say a Friday and Saturday night, followed by a lazy Sunday to recover. My weekend is just beginning. Whatever the order of the days, it' the second shave for Adjustable Arko August for me and the Toggle and Voskhod are still up and ready to go. Add in the Arko and use the Omega 10066 boar brush to get that lather up and running and it's epic. For the newer members (or you old guys with bad memories like..........ah heck I forget your names but you know who you are) "BoS" stands for "Brush of Shame". For whatever reason, I decided on a No-buy July my first year around here and it lasted until I saw this brush and decided I wanted it. Lost a NB July over an inexpensive boar brush - but it's always been one of my favorites. My synthetic addiction pushed this one to the back of the cabinet but it's a reliable performer with a great soft yet firm backbone in it.

Three passes and I am as smooth as is humanly possible. And that was taking down three days growth. Very nice shave and I'm ready for another day off before returning to the rat race. Hope you had a great day today and good luck with Monday!!!

Good evening gentlemen. I just cant seem to put this beauty down. Terrific results every shave and the Platinum Lux blade shows no sign of quitting yet after being used for both head and face shaves. Thought I would mix it up with some Aqua Velva Ice sport and was rewarded with a pleasant scent that invigorated my nostrils and took me far far away.
Tonight was a 1 passer with a bit of cleanup on the face and usual 1 passer on the head . And that concludes my report.
  12. Yup, lusted for a 30k Shapton more than once. Never put it in the shopping cart though.

I bought some nice stuff and still need to work on the skills to use it.

Figured I'd test out someone else's work first and see what kind of longevity I get. So far, I like it.
  13. Keith, I can see getting a Shapton 30K if you were a professional honemeister, but I think getting a nice edge with a 16K should satisfy any straight shaver. I will never tell anyone how to spend their money. Personally, I can put the $300+ to buy that 30K to better use. My finest grit with lapping films is .3 microns (50K+) and it is a whole lot cheaper. Granted lapping films may not be as smooth as stones, but still...
  14. You got that right Joe.

  17. Very nice, Keith! I am glad you joined us mere mortals who are Stirling fans! Lol!
  18. I would view it ideal for summer.
But, I don't segregate on seasons.
  19. Danny, I think you heard it through the grapevine! Lol!
  20. Great shave.

Is there a difference between "Ice Sport" and "Ice Blue"?
