  4. Thanks Karl. I tried to set the bevel, but found out it is very slightly warped, so I don’t have an even hone line...

  7. Tuckmar-Extra
    Ober-Prima
    13/16th Extra Hollow Ground

This one had high hopes, until it came in the mail. I was disappointed to find a tiny crack, in the bevel. I was about to mail it back, when the seller and I agreed on a partial refund, I agreed to pay him $2 more than he asked. It only cost $7.00 total, after everything was said and done. Now, I just have to carefully massage out about 1/16 inch from the blade, without allowing the crack to get bigger. If it splits, the scales are like new, and can be repurposed, but I have hope for this one. Oh, and I need to take a little rust off, without taking the etching off, too much. That will be the hard part.

A bit toothy, but the rest is in good shape. Easy fix, and it was had for a good price. looks like it was chipped, before it was ever honed, away from the factory.

  9. That Tuckmar looks like it will get you up to, or into the stabilizer Scott, but I’m sure that you can manage that and pull a fine shaving edge from it. For the price, it’s good stuff.
  10. I posted about it, in the restoration section. Not as much as you think was removed.
  11. good news for sure!

Reference Jamie’s for a pristine example of what it started life as. :)
This one is no longer 7/8, but comes in at a solid 13/16. It has some hone wear with a little extra at the toe.

I took some time today to sort that out and get it to this point. Pretty happy to experience this one.

  19. This razor should have arrived yesterday with the 505 but no one was home to sign for the package. Spent a night at the post office before I pick it up this morning.
