This was my first shave of Adjustable August with one of my birth quarter Slims. There ain't gonna be must adjustin' going on this month. I set it at 9 and plan to leave it there. I paid attention to what
@Terry said. I watched my angle, and the Feather shave was close and comfortable. Well, I didn't exactly listen to
everything Terry said....I didn't shave the old gourd, just the mug.

I was about as close to BBS with no irritation as I can get with two passes and a few touch ups. It was an ideal shave. The Slim feels good in hand. It's a bit heavier than the Flare Tip, and I like the added weight and stability. The Kent brush feels like a powder puff, and it made quick work of the C.O. Bigelow. I did my usual finish with the typical manly stuff.
If my shaves this month get any better, I'll start referring to myself in third person in bold italics...
@Primotenore style. I don't believe he's yet found a way to copyright sentence construction.
My Bride and I declared today a fun day. We started off on tour of the Kentucky Derby Museum and Churchill Downs, where our friend works as a tour guide. We then treated my Bride's aunt to lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant. The food was great, but I could use some help from the foodies here on what to order. We went for simple and not real spicy today...Hot and Sour & Wonton soup, General Tso's Chicken, and Beef Lo Mein. It sounds more like familiar Chinese fare, and it was all very good. The Hot and Sour soup was some of the best I've ever had....a bit thinner, not too spicy, slightly sweet...and much different than I've ever had in Chinese restaurants. A quick look around the restaurant revealed some pretty interesting dishes, and one gent even brought his battery-operated fan for a quick cool down after lunch. Seriously. We can't wait to go back and try this place again.
A good friend and I go out about once a month for dinner and usually a movie. It's his turn to set the agenda, so we plan to see
Fast and Furious: Hobbs & Shaw tonight. We'll likely wind up at an Indian or Thai restaurant as well.
My Bride, her aunt, and I decided to grill steaks and fresh garden veggies tomorrow. We'll wash it down with my aunt's famous Russian Tea...it's a mysterious concoction of fresh lemons, tea, sugar, and ice.
I hope you all had a great day like this old retired dude.
