    Gillette Slim J3
    Feather
    Thäter Olive Wood Synthetic
    Savonniere du Moulin
    Fine Italian Citrus

    [IMG]

    I decided to pull out my birth year Slim for Adjustable August and play along a couple of days. After wetting my face, I rubbed the Savonniere du Moulin shave stick over my face getting and started to lather with the Thater synthetic. The brush had a good bit of scrub and scritch as I started to lather feeling much like a very dense 2 band finest badger brush. Three passes and touch ups ended in a near perfect shave. As usual my lower right neck aided in the baby's escape. A splash of Fine Italian Citrus and I am off to run some errands this morning. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

    Seaforth!~~Rubberset 400/3~~Boker~~Ogallala Special Reserve
    Hard to believe another week has flown by. It's a beautiful Saturday in the Heartland and Primo's
    got to paint his man-cave. Moved everything out and have begun wall repair (plaster...:angry032:)
    I looked underneath the carpet to discover that sometime in the past 140 years, the wood floors were painted white.
    :angry019::angry019::angry019::angry019::angry019::angry019::angry019:
    We have no plans to refinish those floors as this is unlikely our last house.
    I will focus on the walls and trim and eventually re-carpet.
    The Seaforth! was calling and I answered said call. The lovely shaving mug is smallish, so there's
    no better brush than the Rubberset.
    Took things a bit out of order. Lathered the face and then stropped the Boker.
    Back to the lather and added some more H2O. The Seaforth! needs the sea.
    Except for the loose pins, this Boker still has a pretty good edge.
    Two passes and I called it quits.
    Cracked Alum :angry019: was silent.
    Thayer's mum :shocked002::shocked002:
    First time using the Ogallala Special Reserve. :signs002:
    Verdict is still out on the scent. Extreme clove. (Dr. Mrs. Primo :love055:'s clove)
    Figures.
    Big-time sting (which I kind of enjoy).
    Scent either recedes quickly, or the olfactory sense numbs to it.
    Hope you all have a great weekend.

    This will be my shave in a little while. Posting now before the day gets busy. Should be a good one. I'm faithfully pursuing this soap to the end. It won't give up. Hopefully it's done in two or three more shaves. Guess I should load more....

    Some terrific photos and shaves and commentary here as usual. Hope everyone has a great day!

    Good morning guys!
    Straight razor shave # 98
    Dovo Special
    Stirling Boar Brush
    Stirling Sandalwood SS and AS.
    Bloomed the soap over night and used the soapy water as a preshave. Made one of my best lathers. It was slick, shiny and plenty of cushion. The Dovo Special has a special (pun intended) significance for me because it was my very first traditional straight. Anyway, this is my 2nd shave after honing this razor and it shaved like a dream. I did my first pass (WTG) and it really knocked down my 36 hour stubble that I could have stopped the shave right there for a DFS. The 2nd pass (ATG) made it IBSS+ so that I really didn't need the 1/2 pass, but decided to do it anyway. This was a comfortable, smooth BBS without any nicks, cuts or irritation. Sorry Paul, under my old grading system, this was a 99 = A+ shave. Finished the shave by applying the Sandalwood aftershave with very little feeeback. Have a great Saturday fellas! 20190810_094934.jpg 20190810_094934.jpg
