Awesome shave, Chris, and I'm glad you're enjoying the Fatboy. I'd rock the Veg myself today, but I don't think it would complement my residual garlic fragrance left over from yesterday.

I'm glad to hear the weather broke out on the prairie. Might be another good evening for star gazing. It's warm but nice here in my neck of the woods.

Are you coming over this way anytime soon to see your dear friend, George?

Thanks Joe. I love garlic too, especially roasted, but I tend to regulate my intake for the sake of those around me. I threw caution to the wind yesterday. As a result, family and friends placed me downwind today. :)

We enjoy being with our Aunt. We share a lot of similar interests, and we're blessed to live 20 minutes away. If things turn out as planned, she'll move to assisted living about two miles from us. If she needs anything, we can be there in five minutes. For now, she still drives, has a close circle of friends, and is quite active with church.

Thanks Doug. I hope you're doing well.

You have a mighty fine soap rotation. It will be fun watching you work through it. I have been enjoying the Third Pass Shaving Co. soaps you sent me. I used the Red Line this morning for both my pre-shave and the actual shave. It's a winner - nice and slick, protective, and it smells good. Thanks again. :)

George was here in mid-May, but I may be headed that direction before October. We speak by phone 1 or 2x a week. Once my current situation is resolved, I'll try to see him every 4-6 weeks, if only for a day or two. He's 75 and sadly the decline is underway. He never had kids of his own, and at 45, I'm the right age to act as his "son" as he passes into old age. In fact, due to age gap, blue eyes and southern accents, many here in Denver assumed him to be my father. He's one of the best friends I've ever had, however it's more like the relationship one has with an uncle due to our ages.

Chris, I'm glad to hear you and George are staying in touch. Praise the Lord for the special relationship that you both have. I firmly believe that we cross paths with others for a reason. I pray for your current trials to pass in the Lord's perfect time so that you both can get on with spending time together. I also pray for George's continued physical health and mental clarity.

My two closest friends are both older than me. I would trust them with anything, and nothing rivals the wisdom they speak into my life. I can only imagine this is the kind of relationship you have with George. Plus, you get the plate of cookies every time you go for a visit. :)

I have an old Fender tube amp that I use with my harmonica. It cuts out every once in a while, but it's a good amp.

Compared to the condition the carpets were in, very much so. I never considered shampooing them. It took a shovel to "clean" them so I could pull 'em up. Now if the weather's right I could open a couple of doors and sweep with a leaf blower - kids refuse to get the "Don't you know where the trash can is?" message. I much prefer real hardwoods to any kind of rug or carpet.

The shelf of displayed soaps could be a good distraction technique. She'll never notice one more brush? If she does find the stash, you could try the "dedicated brush to soap" ploy. Toss out some technical terms; "Splay & backbone required for hydration and aeration" and the additional counter space you'd need/she'd give up if you had to prehydrate. Or I could be all wet but I'm not soused. Been a while since I played those games.
