  1. thank you Terry..i haven't used much of anything else to be honest.the only modern de razors i have are a razorock mamba and a merkur 34hd which is an old design..my interest in british gillette razors was sparked by my grandad being a gillette man and ww2 veteran..without that i could well have had a drawer full of modern karves, blacklands and single edges..i cannot say which is better-vintage or modern..but i chose vintage and have invested a fair bit to have nice examples..i also ditched se and injector razors to concentrate my resources on specific razors.i may seem single minded being a de only guy but that's how i need to roll.there are many fabulous shaving options out there, shavette ,straight, modern de,se,injector, and modified vintage that i have little interest in.i hope you continue to search for your best options to your unique shaving needs.i so far have been extremely lucky having successfully found my way to a great shave.i haven't ventured any farther than the vintage gillettes i have and probably won't as i don't see the need to..i shave daily now,get fabulous dfs to bbs shaves with little to no issues..i enjoy the pics and the company here on TSD and especially the 30DC and i get to play with cool tools, new soaps/creams and aftershave cocktails of different flavors..sorry for rambling on but i hope you and many others here continue to search for their ultimate shave experience as i have..cheers..:eatdrink047:

I may seem like I'm searching for the holly grail of shaving but I'm realy not.
I am just fascinated by the different types of tools there are and how to use them. Oh sure I got some favorites, but because I have, in the past, learned to loath
shaving, I try to keel it interesting. Wet shaving has really helped my attitude about the whole thing. Now that I'm getting DE and SE razors under control, I'm headed to open blades and there up keep.
Keeping it fresh in my own way, kinda like that brit guy.

  6. Terry, I agree with you 100%. I believe if you can use a different type of razor at any time and get a great shave, then it is the ultimate experience for me. Now, I don't knock anyone who is comfortable with only using one type of razor because as I have always stated that it is your face, it's your shave.

  12. Since you have the icing, you might as well let the granddaughters bake a cake. I didn't hear you mention any household carb restrictions. :eatdrink020:

  18. I'll shave the back of my neck and sometimes along the outer edge of my ears before tossing a DE blade. Once in a blue moon, I'll even shave the fuzz off my forehead and temples. All the other wild old man hair above the shoulders gets zipped with the electric trimmer and/or tweezers. The pursuit of beauty is never-ending.
