Nice shave, Terry! I have not had the pleasure of using one of those razors, but to me, most adjustable razors really don't adjust the aggressiveness, as the angle of the cap and blade don't change. Just the gap, and this doesn't have a huge effect on aggressiveness in my opinion.
Things seem a bit calmer this morning. There are a few things going on around here that are adding to the stress. All good things, but still adding to the stress. Once a few things get a bit more settled, I'll be able to share some details.
I agree, Jim. I've used my Fatboy on 1, 9 and several settings in between. I do the same shave with the same results on each of them. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
SOTD August 14, 2019 Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: vintage Schick Plus Platinum Razor: PAL Adjustable Brush: Stirling Kong synthetic Soap: Soap Commander 13A▲ Post: Witch hazel, RazoRock Blue Barbershop aftershave Fifth shave with the PAL Adjustable since last week. Like @Terry I can't really tell a difference between the settings. Nice shave in the end and I'll put this razor aside and move on to something else. Pics or it didn't happen, right? Here's the starting amount of soap. And it's gone! Wonderful soap to use. I feel accomplished to push it to the end and not let other soaps distract me away. Tomorrow I'll try Stirling Blood on Steel for the first time. Looking forward to that!
You did it! Congrats on knocking out the soap! Great shave and picture! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
August 14 SOTD: Razor: Gillette Slim Blade: Gillette Nacet Brush: PAA Atomic Rocket Lather: PAA Pineapple Bay Rum Aftershave: PAA Pineapple Bay Rum After seeing all the Slim love going on, I wanted to join in on the movement. Two passes and a DFS. It was great to shave at my sink this morning. My daughter's wrist is sore, but she is fine. My wife is a bit more calm, so everything is looking better for them today. I am off to work. I hope everyone has a great day!
I think you're right on that Jim . Some do hide the blade a small amount I believe. But most just change the gard distance, possibly for those that may not ride the cap sufficiently. Maybe that's why I run all of mine wide open. I like to ride the cap plenty, it works great for me. When I finally figured out how to do that one small thing well, shaves became simple, almost to easy. tp
Pretty picture, Jim! I'm glad all is well at home. The Pineapple Bay Rum beckons me. I have reached capacity though. I have to do way too much digging and rearranging to find what I'm going to use for the day. I do have room for more razors though! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
