I believe there is a difference as the blade will be less or more curved. Also, I kind of like running my adjustable down on 4 so I can zip around my face without bothering to ride the cap with no risk of nicks and get a fast and good enough shave.
August 14 No shave for me today. We hung a lot of pictures, though. I did enough cipherin' to make Jethro Bodine proud, and I even brandished my laser level at one point. I had so much fun today that I now wonder if it was legal. We also took a nice morning walk and plan to get out again later this evening. My morning weight came in just below target (a good place to be), so we're making plans to meet friends tomorrow for lunch. These friends are "all in" anytime we mention ice cream...so I already mentioned it. If I can get half as much ice cream tomorrow as @Trigger had last night for dinner, I will be doing good. Fantastic shaves and good fun today, gentlemen! Thanks for letting me ride along.
I forgot to mention that I showed him my barber's hone and he showed me his. Hone fits in the palm of your hand. It's really small, and you would have to do a real oblique cross stroke to hone the entire edge. He did mention that he doesn't use traditional straights because of the hygienic ban on them. He also did mention to me that if I want them that he would give them to me because they are not being used. I guess he figures that the razors would have a good home and being that I was a loyal customer for many years that he would be happy. He was overcome with joy with my collection. I am thinking if he saw Keith's collection, Joe the barber would faint! Lol! Anyway, I would want to see his razors for the sheer history and appreciating a man's professional tools during a 50 year barbering career. If he offered one of his razors, then I would be thrilled and honored.
