Aug 17 Good afternoon guys! Dovo Shavette shave #94 Dovo Shavette Rockwell Blade (1) Semogue OC Badger Stirling Glastonbury SS and AS Lathered the Glastonbury to a nice consistency suitable for my shave. I did 2.5 passes with very little touchup. Achieved a nice comfortable IBSS++ with a tiny weep, no biggie. I have finally learned that when I am using a new blade in this razor to never chase the baby. Let the blade dull somewhat after the 3rd shave to go for the BBS, otherwise, I will have bigger and more numerous weeps. Lol! Liberally applied the matching aftershave with very little feedback. Have a great evening, fellas!
Thanks Danny It's a one of a kind thing ya know. Keeps me from getting board with the whi thing ya know. tp
Thanks, Terry! I like my trusty Dovo shavette very much. She may not be elegant, but she performs very well in my hand. Shavers knock it because it is very light and it looks flimsy. However, the light factor perfected my touch when I moved on to straights. As far as the flimsiness factor, I can see it, but it was never an issue with me because I enjoyed shaving with it from day one.
R41 head with a Feather.............Arko followed by Clubman........what could go wrong.........bloodletting and possible spontaneous combustion. I am thankful to report that there is no blood on the den floor and no fire as well. First run with the R41 on the Weber bulldog and this was a great shave. I have to report one slight weeper and warm alum but I am a proud boy. When you shave with the R41 you know off the bat that you not dealing with a Karve, Rockwell or Gillette. This thing has some serious blade feel. I took my time and did a little skin stretching and the R41 mowed down two and half days growth with no problem. Two passes and we called it an almost BBS. I just need some more time to get it dialed in. Finished up with some Nivea post balm and Clubman. Y'all have a great weekend.
In my yard we refer to those as "free range wild flowers" and encourage the grandkids to pick bouquets for their mom. Have fun at the wedding! Eat a piece of cake for us.
Thank you Danny! Nice photo of your new acquisition. I'm not RADing right now, but those have been on my list. The fat handle looks good, too.
