    Good morning!

Terrific shave yesterday afternoon! Three passes with some baby chasing left me smooth and ready for a suit and tie.

We had a great time at the wedding last night. My friend since middle school married off one of his three kids. Beautiful ceremony. Got to see some friends that we haven't seen in years. Lisa is still hobbling a bit but we did get one slow dance in. To top it off we ate cake! A wonderful evening!

    Have a great Sunday!

    Barrister & Mann Lavender~~Simpson PL10~~Wade & Butcher
Thanks to Bill @Edison Carter I made a refreshing attempt with a different style.
I have heard it referred to as a Japanese honing technique. Not sure if that's true.
Limited my stones to a Naniwa 12K and Shapton 16K.
Results were more than acceptable, however I notice some new spine-wear so going forward,
I am going to tape the spines when honing in this manner.
I experimented on a Wade & Butcher, which was generously given to me by @Paul76
The scales are broken, as you can see in the photo, so I am willing to try new things with it.
The newly-acquired PL10 is seriously big. It rivals my largest knot, a CH3 "Extra Super"
albeit the Polo has a much taller and beefier handle.
The knot is what I have come to expect from the "Grey Box" era Best Badgers.
Super-soft, medium backbone, very densely packed hair.
Today, I loaded it with one of my favorite lavender soaps, the B&M reserve.
Gooeyness turned into lather nirvana, once the proper ratio of water to soap was met.
I went for the full-monty, three passes and except for those stubborn spots on my neck,
a BBS shave was achieved. No mishaps to sully the excellent results.
Eschewed the Alum/Thayer's and went directly to the B&M aftershave.
Big splash, well rubbed-in, followed by a lighter, patted on application.
    Have a great Sunday.

I've had better shaves than that of this morning. I need to get used to this new brush PIFed to me, which I hereby christen as the "Cleveland Browns mascot", until I find the official name, before I can become ONE with it. The Razorock Acqua didn't lather up as it usually does. I blame myself in part for that, as I decided not to add Stoylin Frost Drops(it appeared that it had enough engine power already). I will next time. But I got 2 cuts on the first pass, which kinda throws off the rest of the shave for me. I ended up OK after the 2nd pass, as the Aqua Velva's coolness calmed me down(and the shave, too) but....I can do better than today. Lesson-my two Razorock soaps NEED Doc Ezlovan's frost drops at every shave.

The Block Soaps I like have lavender as one of their scents(these are artisan hand soaps made in, or ON I should say, Block Island, RI.)

Well Paul, have those days, looking to get a nice shave this morning, so wore out from this week I'm slow moving.
But I'm sure your next shave will be much better.
    Good luck!
