This one cleaned up nicely. I like the brand, and the scaled looked flawless, with the scrolling on both sides.

    Extra Hollow Ground

Time for me to update my Tetanus Shot with this one. Believe it, or not, this one has very little use on the blade, and the edge looks to have the factory bevel intact. The scales look to be made of bone, of some kind. Now, this will require a lot of restoration work, and I don't know how it will look, in the end. But, it will be a fine shaver, I am sure. $13 invested, or wasted?? I will let you guys be the judge.

  6. Certainly worth the gamble Scott, and likely to work out. Like my rusty MK 31, it will depend on how thinly it’s ground and how deep the rust goes. At any rate, looks like decades of service before the rust would be an issue since unlike my MK 31, it isn’t near the edge.

I just won this lovely NOS Engels Leader. The seller claims it has never touched a stone. It’s being sent direct to @gssixgun so I’ll find out soon enough. Either way it’s a beauty and one I’ve been looking for for some time. :happy036:

  8. Looks Minty Fresh, to me.

  12. Karl, your snipe beat my snipe by $1! I am glad that a fellow TSD member got it, and one who will appreciate it and look after it. I have a new Cape 1372 to console myself lol. Congrats on a fine looking razor!
  13. Nice one Basil, Kikuboshi is good stuff.
  14. Thanks! Looking forward to getting some stone time in.

  15. If it makes you feel better - my max was significantly higher. I’m glad yours wasn’t! ;)

  16. Yeah, you know I figured that it would go higher and I was just throwing a ‘lowball’, but the closing price was actually quite reasonable.

As a side note, the seller is in my home city of Knoxville, TN. Mind boggling.

Well done, it does look like new.

Enjoy, every Jwest razor I bought has been a joy to use.
  18. Thanks! I love my Japanese razors. Such great steel that takes a fine edge!
