  2. Huh. Thanks for that information Blair. I may have to try a Zenith! Are they scritchy & scrubby when brand new? Does this difference apply to all Zenith knots or is there a specific model that's high density

And while we're on The Enabling Train...

Oh Lordy is that ever a deep & wide rabbit hole. Remember when you were a Newbie shaver and there were all those ...EVERYTHINGS! My brain gets full of new or used, wind up vs solar vs automatics vs battery fed, different types of crystals, luminous dots, day AND/OR date, Right handed vs Left handed, number of atmospheres or water resistant depth, ... Charlie @wristwatchb & Clint @clint64 - what other options am I missing?

I've been keeping my eye on an auction of this Swiss Army #241297. It's currently at $27 with 5-1/2 more days to go. The band needs replacing, but it's functional unlike many preowned auctions I'm seeing.

  6. Thanks Clint! Glad to hear you are back up to speed for the Monday Follies on I-285.
Thanks Terry! I've been doing the Days of the Week themes while keeping in the Adjustables. Sort of looking forward to free styling after SEptember & OCtober are over.

The Rex group buy was a one time thing. Razor Emporium usually has a pretty good coupon code for Black Friday if you're patient. There's a 15% off code out right now. I'll check my emails for it if you're interested.

Thanks Keith. There's this group that wreaks havoc on my wallet. It's the TSD 30DC E^2T (that's excellent enabler team). I've lost count on the members. ;)

Thanks for the kind words Clint. It was a fun little project.

    Thank you Perry! Appreciated.

Thanks for the kind words Jim.

Thank you Joe. Not entirely sure why I have a fascination with kamisoris....but, it's about all I search out lately.

    Thank you Danny.

    Thanks Andrew!

  10. Thanks Blair! Thankfully the J type head is so mild that the risk of cutting yourself is minimal.

  11. Wonerful shave and post, Joseph!

Thank you, Blair! It's settling down but crazy busy. We practice 3:30 to 5:30 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Games are Friday nights. First game is this Friday. It's hot with a terrible heat index so we're only going outside for an hour today.

  12. I know that you can only use one side of a true kamisori to shave, so I would imagine it is different than using a straight. I would also imagine that it needs to be honed differently.

  16. Jason - I was concerned back when I sent that cypress. Wasn't sure it was hard enough to get good turnings. Seeing the sharp edge between the knot cup and handle base looks like it works well enough!
Three blade tucks, not 5? Someone's playing silly buggers with the packaging. I'm guessing the short tucks cost the same as regular ones.

  17. I just got in my razor head and base plate lot. I'll share some more pics later on but I need help identify this top plate. I think it is an Above the Tie top plate. Andrew @Linuxguile thought it was a Gamechanger top plate when he seen the original post.

I matched everything up in the lot and ended up with 12 complete razor heads, 2 Rockwell plates, 3 other plates and the top cap I have pictured.

    Thanks guys!

  19. The wood is awesome, Rick! Apart from the 5 that got made with it, I put a chunk away for a future turning as well.
I meant three different tucks available, not 3 blades in each tuck. The Feathers and Nacets were 10 packs, actually. I'd never seen Nacets in 10 packs to be honest.
