  4. With all the different brands and options, watch shopping can be crazy (and fun). There are lot of solid options at all price points.

    Good luck on the auction, Rick. I had two Swiss Army field watches from the 1990s (still have one of them), and they are solid. The chrono is a nice looking watch, and a new strap or bracelet will dress it up. If you get it and plan on getting it wet, have a watch maker pressure test the case. You want to make sure the seals are good. Water in the case and drops onto hard surfaces (sapphire glass will shatter and spread fragments around in the case) are the two biggest watch killers.

    Are you still considering a Vostok? It's a nice watch for the money if you can find a style that you like.
