Zero nicks. Zero weepers. Zero irritation. Fantastic shave. I will shave with it again next time. I may have found the blade to go with this razor, but it's extremely expensive. It's results differences like this that, for me at least, show blade differences matter and can improve shaves in different razors. I'm really impressed with this blade. I thought I might never get a great shave with this antique beauty, but this blade helped make the difference. All the other blades I've tried in this, except the Gillette Green (which was just 'ok'), tore me up with irritation and weepers. Cleaning and polishing up the gear then re-blading with this super-expensive blade:

Adjustable Arko August!! August 20 Razor - 1962 (H1) Gillette Slim (9) Blade - (3) Soap - Arko Brush - Stirling Finest Badger Post - Alum Well those three shaves certainly went by fast. By product of a hyper speed life at the moment I suppose. The Slim really performs well. Not quite the same feel as the Fatboy, but it definitely provides a smooth and effective shave. As Charlie @wristwatchb mentioned, my keeping it locked firmly in at 9 all the time sort of removes the "adjustable" out of the equation but hey, when it works it works. That's the same for Arko. Nothing fancy, nothing that smells like flowers or cologne or high class farts - but it gets the job done. And the Stirling badger outperforms some higher end brushes! Great three pass to a BBS finish and I'm ready for another day tomorrow. I'm hoping to get a few hours down time the next couple of days to catch up better around here but keep it going!! I'm seeing some great stuff and more newbies!! If I haven't said hi yet, then HI!! Have a great Wednesday!!
