  1. The brush is a rebadged Vulfix 404 mixed badger/boar.

I'll wash the brush out again as you suggested.

  2. 2/10.

I was in a rush today so (again) its a DFS, not a BBS.

This combo is deffo mild. Its a comfortable shave rather than a skin scraping close shave.

The lather died on its a$$e after the 1st pass so i had to reload. Perhaps the brush is a touch too soft for this soap? I will really load it up for the next shave.

I am warming up to the soap though. The scent is very mild but nice and post shave feel is fab.

  3. I find certain brush/soap combos just dont work as well as others. For harder soaps I prefer a boar and for softer I prefer a synthetic. Its kinda trial and error sometimes. New brushes usually take a bit to break in before they yield results. Great report and I'm sure you'll see better results as you get some miles on the brush.

  11. August 21st
    Razor: Supply Co V2 ••
    Blade: Personna (1)
    Brush: PAA Starcraft
    Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated
    Soap: Williams Mug soap
    PAA Galactic witch hazel
    PAA unscented Star Jelly
    AS: AV Ice Blue

    Adjustable August/Williams Wednesday

    Good morning!

Terrific shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS.

The Supply razor is intuitive for me. The angle just comes naturally. Smooth and easy.

I've found with Williams the more soap I load the better the end result. Slick stable lather for this morning's shave.

    Have a great day! [IMG]

  12. Good Wednesday morning all.
    I think I'm in love......
Well, not really, but when you get a razor that's not only inexpensive but works great, what's a wet shaver to think? The Rapira is a real dimond in the rough. IF you like a mild mannered razor, you might want to shy away from this toy. Now paired with a new Feather blade, the toughest beard should concede defeat.
Nothing about this razor looks much different than other razors of this type, but it's a real paint stripper. I was even able to do 2 full passes, no pulling or tugging on the face, with one blade. The head shave was great, nice and smooth with the same blade. I keep telling myself it's just a blade holder, just another blade holder. But somthing about the design cranks it up to a 10 + on my scale.
Well, anyway, the Arko was working great and the Clubman was a good choice for a great day.

  16. SOTD August 21, 2019

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick G5
    Brush: Ever Ready 100T badger
    Soap: RazoRock Blue Barbershop
Post: Witch hazel, RazoRock Blue Barbershop aftershave

This week is moving by quickly. Easy, smooth shave with this combination. These RazoRock 'What the Puck' soaps, despite a terrible name, are a real bang for your buck. High quality soap that's slick. Nice scent, etc. Good, straightforward shave.

The photo is recycled from earlier this year.....got in late after a long day yesterday.

    Have a great day!

  17. I think this 30 shave sojourn may just break the bugger in!

My Omega brush would be a better brush for the soap but i am now set on this path for the next 28 shaves lol

  19. Nice setup and photo, Jim! Love all the blue hues. Bravo to getting a stable lather with modern Williams. I'll acknowledge that Williams is slick as anything I've used but the inconsistent lather qualities drove me crazy. Great shave!
  20. Awesome shave this morning with the PAA Prismatic on a Rockwell C handle. Loaded with a Voskhod, this was a smooth shave all the way around. Complete two passes and touched up a few areas. Splashed on some glorious Stirling stank and the shave was in the bag! Now off to the adult day care center.......I mean work. Y'all have a great day!
