I've currently got one brush with a badger/boar mixed knot. It's small diameter so doesn't see much lather. From my previous uses and it's been a while, that's a good combo giving the scrub of a boar & softness of badger. Clint speaks with the voice of experience since he uses the same product. Dare I suggest blooming? Getting a sufficient load from a hard soap with a soft brush can be problematic. "Use More Product" is cléché, but often true. Pulling a 30 day bender with that combo ought to have you lathering in style!
That part of the Joy of Enabling. The victim already wants (desired item). Sometimes they don't know it yet so we're just giving them a push. Yeah! Use More Product! (Don't try to understand it. Just nod your head and waste a little soap. ) That sounds like it smells good Gary! I was concerned it'd be another bay rum. How's the performance?
August 21st British Aristocrat Jr w Sputnik (1) Omega Pro/Poculi handle Asylum/SV Colonia combo Thayers Pulled out the 'Crat Jr this morning, for no other reason than it has been awhile. Got the usual awesome SV lather and had 3 very pleasant passes. Classic scent and while it is not amongst my favourites, it is very nice indeed. I am not perfectly smooth, but close enough. Thank you Clint, Patrick, Jim, & Joseph! Thanks Gary & Danny! I know it's another Chinese dupe of a classic though lesser known cap & base and made of zamak to boot. Despite that it's an interesting look. Even better it shaves like a mild DE for the lack of nicks, but gives great blade feel and is very efficient / aggressive. Those open channels on the cap leave lots of lather behind for added residual slip & glide so it enhances the qualities of the lather. Thank you Andrew! I think I know which soap and AS I'm using next shave...

Andrew, it is loud and I believe that is due to the large blade over hang. You would think that the large over hang would produce chatter but I don't sense that. It is a very comfortable mild razor that allows multiple passes without irritation. It is a great little razor. Take care.
SOTD August 21st Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap EDRIO#107 Schick droppable guard Prototype Personna Injector blade Yaqi Red marble tuxedo (28mm, Destroyer Class) Soap Commander Gusto soap TSD M-BOMB menthol additive, 4 drops Soap Smooth Frozen Cranberry AS Wanted some menthol this morning so I decided to M-bomb the SC Gusto soap. Four drops on the top of the puck as I was loading gave it a nice chill. Wonderfull, fruity, raspberry lemonade scent. New Personna blade in the last prototype razor for EDRIO. The shave started off really smooth and enjoyable but ended with weepers galore (4 to be exact). Not quite sure what happened. Maybe I got a bit heavy handed during the shave or got sloppy with the angle but I haven't had a weeper in a long time, much less four. A little sting from the AS before the face freeze kicked in. One more razor to go, and that's my new Timeless OC. Really looking forward to finishing out the month with my Rex and also really looking forward to Stirling SEptember and OCtober.
