    Paul:
Do you have any issues with your skin drying out with the Barbasol. I used to use it many years ago, but had to stop because of that issue.

    Enjoy your shaves,

Hmmm....it's never been an issue with me. Having said that, I've always put Rise Super Foam above the Barbasol and Gillette, and perhaps the moisturizing strength of the Rise could be the reason.

Really admire your razor, Clint! I've recently moved in AC land with the purchase of three AC razors: the Oren, the Razorrock Green Hulk, and the new Enoch. I have three sons with birthdays coming up. I tried the Oren, but it's too unwieldy for me. I feel like I'm dragging a snowplow around my face. I'm just too used to DE standard razors. I imagine I would have the same experience the other two. I'll let my sons decide what to do with their birthday gifts.

    Enjoy your shaves,

    Jeff

Of course, that was in the days when one just wet his face, smeared on the shaving cream and shaved, followed by Aqua Velva. I didn't start using moisturizers until my daughter, about 8 yrs ago pointed out how dry my face was. (She's a registered aesthetician) The only downside for me was that the moisturizer softened the leathery scarred skin on my face resulting in nicks again. I hadn't had any in years. That, of course passed. after I started focusing more on blade angle, and stopped using Shark blades. When the Sharks are good, they're really good, but when they're bad, fuhgetaboutit!

    Enjoy your shaves,

    Jeff

Thank you Jeff. I love AC razors in general. I have the OREN and am waiting on the Enoch. I used a Mongoose AC razor almost exclusively for a year so I got used to the size. I’m sorry the didn’t work for you. Hopefully your sons will enjoy the gifts.

    Clint:
Rick, the moderator, said you were the man to talk to about AC razors. I'm going to try each of them, and do expect to give the Oren a fair shot. My question for you is the size of the blade. I've been shaving with DE razors forever, specifically the Krona, and most recently my new Karve. I had issues around careful trimming around my beard with the Oren. Did you ever have such an issue. I just found the size of the blade to be awkward to manipulate. I realize that may pass with more experience with the razor, and I do want to give AC razors a fair shot. Do you have any pointers or recommendations as to their use.

    Enjoy your shaves,

    Jeff

I did, Gary, and I have you to thank. I went on the App store and downloaded a photo compression app. That was the ticket! Thank you!

I've been using that old Klenzo brush forever. My dad gave it to me in the late 60's, he had upgraded. I've used it ever since. The knot has lasted!

    Enjoy your shaves,

    Jeff

Well, this Rise that I mention is the "modern" version of the original Rise Shaving Cream(that had the ads in the 50's and 60's by sports athletes). I think the scent is taken out(for the most part anyway), but the moisture remains. I'm on my last Rise now(I ordered a set of 9 about 5 years ago). Thankfully, this "new" Rise works well with Aqua Velva. But I do have many shave soaps here too. Nice to have a "professional" in your family, eh?
