Adjustable Arko August!! August 22 Razor - Soviet "Ideal" (Super Adjustable Clone) (9) Blade - (2) Soap - Arko Brush - Vie-Long 12601 "The Pony" Post - Alum Second shave with the Ideal and, well, it wasn't totally Ideal. As I mentioned yesterday this razor has a bit different feel from the Consul, including a definitely more obvious blade feel. I decided to lather with the horsey tonight, and enjoyed the scritch immensely. The lather was awesomely comfy and slick and the first two passes were quite comfy themselves. But...you know that blade is there. On the third pass as I came ATG at the jawline on the right side that blade turned on me. A nick brought some blood. Nothing major, but I do believe with the Consul or any of the Gillettes that would have been a smooth and perfect shave. Only one real flaw so no reason to get too upset. It just goes to show that gear with a bit of a quirk can create issues if you're not hyper-vigilant. As I had just finished a big steak dinner - yeah, probably not so vigilant. I'll go again tomorrow with this gear. It's still fun to use. The picture I took for tonight shows the underside of the head. Definitely a different design than the Consul. Again - same razor two factories? Ok. And the sky was purple all day with green and yellow striped clouds. Have a great Friday!
