Welcome! If you're concerned about cutting yourself with a DE razor, then shave with whatever you feel comfortable. Keep in mind though, there are some very mild DE razors out there that you'd have to work at to cut yourself. Other folks on TSD would know which razors would best meet your needs.
I very well may down the road, so to speak. My sole DE experience is from the old Gillettes from when I first started shaving. I'll keep my eyes open for these mild ones you speak of.
welcome from Washington state I maybe able to help you out with you try to shave again try electric wet shaving it's what I do because of my disability the bet one to start with is Philips Norelco oneblade whip up your favorit soap or cream and you'll have to go ageinst the grain of your beard don't exp, and close shave right off the bat it takes time but the oneblade is good start for starting out in ews and it will will go through any lenth of beard I hope this helps
