I’m alive. Thanks for checking. My life is crazy busy and I’ve not even had time to check in. My wife and I escaped for a relaxing weekend outside of Challis ID. We are just now getting ready to go fishing Have fun!
Bat rums....good one . But try Stephan's B.R....bit of a clove smell, but the other fragrances weaken it. Nice A.S.
Hello, I have contributed to most threads here on the forum. I know most of the participants. I've directed those with questions here to help them. I have enjoyed many aspects of sport shaving. I began this journey because i didn't or couldn't afford cartridges. I've learned to shave using de,se, and straight razors. I even learned to sharpen a straight razor. I've enjoyed and amassed a high collection of razors, brushes and soaps, cremes, aftershave lotions and balms. I acquired and enjoyed, learned, lived, restored, shared. Now i guess my evolution has come full circle. I am going to try a different path. Im boxing up all my shave goodies. Im going to pick a setup, and share here, I'm forgoing variety. I can't stand the clutter any longer. I don't enjoy, or don't have time to maintain a straight razor. Don't get me wrong, i like them, but the endless piles of junk(cool junk), is starting to bug me. So, will somebody tell me the monthly focus here, I'll try to help contribute. Thanks for letting me ramble and collect my thoughts. I can't believe a minimalist mentality is becoming attractive to me.
An update-the song was made famous by the U. of Michigan band. I just played it. As I recall, we didn't do the "middle part", just ended with "Mr. Touchdown, USA".
The theme is Adjustable/Arko August. You can use an adjustable or Arko or the combo if you decide to go with the theme.
Ok, indulged in my SRAD, today. I bought a set of shave ready C-mon vintage razors for a nice price. One is a Peter J Michels/Brooklyn and since I was born in Brooklyn, I couldn't resist. Peter J Michels was one of a few dealers of C-Mon razors. Every NY Italian barber had a C-Mon razor.
That looks like my Grandfathers old straight. Must call my brother and ask him the name on it since he inherited it.
Random: Rotating thunderstorm over the northern half of Denver, Colorado, USA. This was from the north at sunset last Wednesday night, taken from the I76s as I drove in. No Filters....
If it is a C-Mon, then your brother has a very good razor. Hopeully, he is a straight shaver so that he can enjoy it.
Hey David. The focus can be whatever you want it to be. My year long focus has been trying to use up soaps. My problem is buying more at about the same rate I am using them up. I get to feeling cluttered at times as well. Rather than go totally minimalist, I tend to pick several favorites and use them until I get bored. Next month I will be sticking with Single Edge Razors and Synthetic brushes for the month. You might decide to rotate through some of your shave gear and put them into a stay or go pile.
Wow. Great photo Chris. I hope you are doing well. I thought about you Thursday. I went out for some street style tacos.
