Adjustable Arko August!! August 25 Razor - Schick Type M Injector Blade - Soap - Arko Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip Post - Alum No shave last night due to it being Saturday, so the switch to the next razor occurred tonight. My final unused adjustable in the den - the Schick Type M Injector. As usual, I adjusted it to wide open and, of course, went with a Schick blade. Voskies just do not fit well in these handles for some reason. I used the Wolf with the Arko for the great and easy lather and made sure to enjoy some extra face time with this brush. It's been interesting to skip the synthetics this month. I've enjoyed getting the badgers and boars back into action. With SEptember a week away I thought using the Schick would be a good preview of next month. Single edge goodness with a solid blade, great performance and a smooth and very comfortable three pass shave for the win. Great way to set up what will be a busy and stressful Monday for me. The alarm is set early and the sooner I get past noon the better. Have a great start to your week!

Shave of the Day August 25, 2019. * Shower: Dove For Men Extra Fresh 2n1 Shampoo/Conditioner Dove For Men Clean Comfort Body Wash * Shave: Prep: Hot shower, Nivea Men Moisturizing Face Wash, Corn Huskers Lotion Brush: Razorock Plissoft Razor: Ming Shi Adjustable (setting 3) Blade: Derby Extra (2nd use) Lather: Art Of Shaving Sandalwood Shaving Cream (face lathered) Passes: WTG/ATG Post: Cold water rinse, Pinaud Clubman Vanilla splash, Gillette Sensitive Skin Aftershave Balm My first post in a few years. Glad to be back. Traditional wet shaving is a hobby of mine, and like many of my other hobbies, I pay lots of attention to it for about a year and then I veer to something else. Tunnel vision, you could say. I was at TJ Maxx a week ago and found a puck of AOS Lavender for $4 and geeked out and immediately my interest was sparked in wet shaving again (I have been using Gillette a Fusion with canned goo for the last year+). Anyway, today’s shave was a pleasant two passer. I’ve purchased a Ming Shi Futur knock off from Wish (less than $5) and could not be happier with it. This is my first experience with an adjustable and I am toying with what is the most comfortable setting. So far, 3 is working the best. I used to use Corn Huskers Lotion as a pre shave prep and I decided to try it out to see if it helped and I don’t find that it does anymore. As I’m getting older my skin has decided it does not like a lot of things on it. If anything, it overpowers the magnificent fragrance of AOS sandalwood. My post shave was nothing out of my ordinary - cold water rinse, splash and then balm. (Usually balm then splash, sometimes I alternate the order). To all the folks I’ve never conversed with, I’m happy to make your acquaintance. I used to be highly active here and make YouTube tutorials for new comers to this wonderful hobby. Hopefully everyone is doing well!

Sunday SOTN Well, I was nervous but thought I'd give the E baseplate a fair shot before trading it away. I felt that the Karve E plate is a little aggressive for my neck but I was given a mostly trouble free 2 pass shave tonight with a fresh Astra Green. Only one small nick below my chin. A very efficient plate indeed but not harsh. It definitely commands respect. Hmm decisions decisions . I guess it'll stay for now. Night all! Josh Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk
SOTD: Beautiful shave this morning, its been a while since I've used the boots original shave stick. Performance wise its very similar to arko, but i find that i need to use a tiny bit more when compared to arko, but the slickness is basically identical, so overall an excellent shave stick. I wasn't too impressed with the longevity of the voshkod blade although the first few shaves were excellent, but now that the coating has worn off it's actually sharpened up a bit, so I'll definitely be doing the Excalibur club test on this one. SOTD Just another Arko Monday Where has the summer gone? It seems to me it was the 1st of June just the other day and now it's the end of August. And I see some of the leaves are starting to change colour!
