SOTD August 26, 2019 Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: Kai Captain Mild Razor: RazoRock Black Hawk Brush: Surrey badger Soap: Soap Commander Vision Post: Witch hazel, Soap Commander Vision aftershave Went with Vision again today after a great shave on Saturday. Wonderful scent and terrific performance. The Black Hawk efficiently cleaned it all up and the day has begun well enough. Weekends are way too short. Fun time out on the lake with our friends. Wilson loved every second. Swimming, tubing, boat riding - he smiled and laughed and slept quite well last night. Good times. Have a great day!
You're making good progress on your focus! As a fellow engineer, I'll provide the equation. I'm glad you're finding a workable solution in your den! Soap + Water = Lather One of my favorite brushes is my Kent BK8. It's a powder puff, and I can make a great lather with it using my hardest triple milled soaps. I just have to load longer and get plenty of water to the soap. I predict you'll be in the same spot soon enough...getting great lathers from any soap/brush combo. The 30 Day Focus was a big help for me. Carry on! I'm not above taking a difficult soap, rubbing the puck on my face like a shave stick, and then making the lather that way. There are plenty of ways to skin a cat.
