I am sorry, I thought you lived in PA! Depending on what part of Connecticut you reside, I can take the Port Jeff Ferry to Bridgeport or the Orient Point Ferry to New London or take the Throgs Neck to get to the eastern part of Connecticut or you can do the same in reverse and meet me on Long Island.

Thank you, Joseph. I appreciate the kind words.

I've heard success defined not as something you hope to do one day, but as something you do every day. That the's essence of a lot of things in life. Seemingly looking for the magic bullet, people ask me all the time what I did to lose weight. I usually say I made smarter food choices, watched my portions, and exercised more. Pretty basic, commonsense stuff, but it works. I appreciate the encouragement you've given me along the way. Thank you, my friend.

With diverticulitis you’re supposed to avoid popcorn nuts seeds and stuff like that. They can cause problems.

Thank you, Gentlemen! I appreciate the good words.

So far, I haven't "let up," and I'm able to maintain. That is where I've failed in the past, so I appreciate the accountability from my friends here. I'm actually on a very slow downward trend to a stable 200 lbs. I've flirted with 200 lbs, but I'm not quite there yet day in & day out.

Today's the day. Primo's epic return to the infamous Stirling Glastonbury.
When we last visited this product, it was being packaged and sent away to an unsuspecting buyer.
Primo was happy to be rid of his second batch of the soap/as and VOWED to NEVER allow this product
to grace the hallowed halls of his shave den.
    :rolleyes005::rolleyes005::rolleyes005::rolleyes005::rolleyes005::rolleyes005::rolleyes005::rolleyes005::rolleyes005::rolleyes005::rolleyes005::rolleyes005::rolleyes005::rolleyes005::rolleyes005:
Fast forward and what do have we here :signs002:
A third purchase of said soap/as.

    Well, what's the saying :signs002:
"Third time's the charm" and indeed, this third attempt at this scent has won Primo over.

As I mentioned in the Stirling thread, I am going out on a limb here and surmising that this
most recent batch (#306 AH) has undergone a slight tweaking of the ingredients.
We are currently waiting for Rod to confirm or deny.

Take a look at this luscious lather.
I ALMOST over-hydrated the soap today; perhaps adding one too many splashes of H2O.

However, the soap absorbed it all, and the third lathering was spectacular.
The straight (taped spine) got 60 laps on the Naniwa 12K, followed by the same amount on the Shapton 16K.
    I used the Japanese "back-and-forth"
    method, for anyone who cares.
40 laps on the Straight Razor Design 3" and 20 on the Wladimir Savin strops.
    Results were outstanding. :happy036:
Three passes for a BSS over 95% of my beard area and a DFS on those irksome spots on my neck.
Eschewed the Alum and Thayer's, opting to go directly to the Glastonbury AS.
There was mos def© some sting, but after a thorough massaging and a repeat splash,
Primo is ready to take on Woodstock.

Fantastic shave, report, pic and setup, Joseph! I am curious. What made you purchase Glastonbury? It smells nice, but it doesn't linger as soon as I lather my face.

I went with as much favourite 'Made in Canada' gear today as possible. The razor is Canadian, the software is Canadian, and any brush handle I make is obviously Canadian :) (with a knot from a Canadian supplier). Why? Well, 50 years ago today I was 'Made in Canada' myself...or at least unleashed upon the world on this day, at least.
Polished up the razor, loaded a fresh PermaSharp, loaded the heck out of this soap and had 3 excellent, smooth passes. This is my favourite Gillette, amongst many favourites. A nice start to the day.
    Have a great day, all!

Terrific post, Joseph! Always entertaining and informative. I wonder how much water it would take to overhydrate or break a Stirling lather. It has always taken as much as I could throw at it, but I also face lather.
