Well-deserved time off, Jim. I know you'll enjoy it. Nice Fat Friday shave with a different Pinaud splash!
Summer is always too fast for me. My concern is no seersucker after Monday. I really enjoy seersucker shorts and have a full blue seersucker suit. It'll come back out on Easter Sunday.
August Focus Martin de Candre Fougère~~Simpson KH4~~1908 Gillette Single Ring~~Personna 74~~Brut Penultimate August shave and it was a "Crackin' good one" Thanks, @Yehuda D I had picked out the MdC last evening and it appears that many of us were channeling each other. What a scent! Best Fougère I have ever tried and today's lather was magnifique. Slickest MdC lather that I have ever created. This just bolsters the adage that technique trumps tools. Back in the day, I would get a load of MdC on my brush and simply not hydrate it enough. I have learned a lot in these past 5 1/2 years. Thanks in great part to the many fine members of the shave fora, in particular, my "home away from home" The Shave Den. I am still astounded that this Personna 74 blade keeps on ticking. Inserted and aligned in the '08 (19) SR, it made short work of the 24 hours of facial growth. Naturally, I got a little carried away on the neck chasing that brat and I was politely reminded with a couple of weepers. Thayer's eradicated them. The pièce de resistance...vintage Brut lotion.
Rumor has it that Clint keeps a bottle of Clubman Pinaud After Shave Lotion hide in his master bathroom toliet tank. When the wife is away he spashes a liberal amount on and then cuts into this dance routine. When the cat is away the mouse will play.
Thanks, Perry. I have cultivated my shave den since 2014. Many products, some of which I regret selling, have not made the final cut.
Thank you Perry. This computer upgrade has been going on over a week. We are frustrated beyond belief.
No chance of that happening. I am going to try to ride the motorcycle some this weekend. The one and only time I tried Clubman was just before a ride. I thought I would die from the stench inside the helmet.
Excellent shave and writeup! I rinse between passes also. However, I have enough soap on my brush for 3 passes and I usually don't have the soap losing cushion or slickness with each pass. If for some reason the soap dissipates or it isn't enough on a subsequent pass, then their isn't any shame to add more soap to the brush. I primarily shave with a straight razor or a shavette and I only need 2 and a half passes which helps me have more soap then I need for most shaves.
Looks like you're well prepared, and it's nice you can provide whatever help to your parents, given your location.
