First use of the Yaqi Mellon head or any DOC for that matter.
The head at first glance looked really well finished but after further inspection I felt a couple of burrs, one on a stud/post that keeps the blade in place and the other on an end tooth. The blade is held firmly in place with even blade exposure and as both burrs are on the underside of the razor head they didn't affect the shave.
A very good shave it was too.
This is a mild razor in the same ballpark as the WS Sticky, and like the Sticky it's surprisingly efficient.
All in all, I'm very impressed and at just over £4 it's a real bargain.
Not only is my face smiling my wallet is too.

Schick C1, Schick blade, shave 6



This razor has the distinction of being the only open comb Schick ever produced and possibly the only open comb injector ever produced.

 

A beautiful example. I look forward to hearing how it shaves.

 

I had a bad shave with it but I think it was more due to the blade than razor. I think I may have inadvertently ruined the blade edge when I transferred this blade from another razor into this one.

 

I haven't used that model but it's easily done on any injector.

 

It was the blade, when I took it out you could feel the edge was completely dull. I put in a fresh proline and shaved again. Much closer shave but damn this razor has some serious blade feel to it. I think I can do better though if I can work out optimal shave angle. I did this shave flat on the cap but I should be able to angle it in a little bit.

This razor really is deceptive, it's a must have for all you mild razor lovers out there imo.
Personally I prefer a bit of blade feel but this is a keeper.
Smooth Shaving one and all.

Much better shave with a little more steep of an angle, this razor and the C2 do shave the same when used at the same shave angle only difference is the feel of the guard on the face.
