I emptied a couple of tubes of C.O. Bigelow cream in a large tub. I'm not a fan of the tubes and would rather use cream out of a tub. Over time, the cream that stuck to the lid dried out as you would expect. It took a little more water to re-hydrate it, but I could otherwise tell no difference in its performance. It may sound icky to you Nancy Boys, but I've been known to squeeze the excess cream off a brush after the shave and wipe it back into the container for the next day. I tend to plow through a soap or cream fairly quickly through daily use, so I don't worry about it. Any "microbes" that I might introduce require time to grow, so I wouldn't do this with products that were going into storage for any length of time. I figure this is low risk, considering I'm the only person using the product. Secondly, we're all introducing "microbes" into our products every time we swipe across them with a previously used brush. So there.
Rule of thumb here in my neck of the woods: always pay close attention to the man with a gun in his hand.
To be on the safe side, I assume a man with a gun in his hand is providing actual information, especially if he's prone to enjoying adult beverages or has just come from an Atlanta traffic jam.
That reminds me of a story. Years ago a salesman and a truck driver went to repo a skidder from a customer. When they pulled up on the job site out in the middle of no where the customer asked them what they were doing there. They told him they was there to pick up the skidder. The customer opened up his truck door, reached behind the seat and pulled out a 12 gauge and told them, not today. The salesman told him, you are correct sir and have a great day! Then they left.
For those bloomaphobes amongst us, the 'Blue Ming' generally recommends a canned foam such as Barbasol. One can dispense the amount to be used daily without the worry that the pristine balance would degenerate.
So you cross-checked the lot number with the date of manufacture and compared it to the manufacturer's recommendation for product stability?
Thank you for making this recommendation in Barbasol's 100th year of activity, Mr. Cawtuh. Oh, and you too "Blue Ming".
O.k. guys. Bought this junk razor set to play with. It was cheap enough. No, I was not drinking! What appears to be single ring is missing the handle tube and I think I have a piece of aluminum tubing that will work. It also has several bent teeth. I have straightened teeth before. We will see if I can bring the old girl back into service. The MMOC has a bent tooth and is rough but I have plans for it as well.....bead blast and a coat of black appliance paint. The rough super speed....I don't know yet.
I was away for a tiny bit yesterday, and you guys covered new babies, blooming, potty training, and entropy. Anybody need a watch?
This morning I followed a shave of GD Valencia soap with CL Fourth & Pine AS. Both contain an elegant mix of citrusy goodness and I now smell awesome, as verified by my wife’s unsolicited confirmation of such. This afternoon I will drag some steel across some JNATs generously lent to me by @Steve56. I’m counting on this, along with a healthy dose of College football to distract myself from hurricane hysteria produced by the catastrophic storm churning just offshore. Turn, baby, turn!
