Can you tell how that one went by the post shave? When I bought this razor it was an unbelievably low price auction and the condition of the razor is impeccable. Now, there are a couple of different makes of the Kampfe Star. One is easily adapted to modern SE blades. The older model, not so much. I have the older one. It appears that the corners of the blade are against the stops on the razor handle, but here's the problem....the alignment. If you are even the slightest bit off with a modern blade - you get this:

That is about a 2 inch cut from the corner of the blade, with some major scrapeage against the goatee on the right side. Sunday, bloody Sunday. The good news - once I got some compression going and got it cleaned up the damage is much less dramatic looking:

I decided that discretion was the greater part of valor and grabbed my New LC that still has a blade in it to finish the pass. And, I called it good with one pass with a CFS and I'm ok with that for now. I checked the blade and discovered that just so slight off center alignment of the blade that put the corner out there to do what it did. I also double checked the position of the blade to make sure it was properly set so that the corners shouldn't be popped up over the stops. Seemed ok other than the alignment. I'm beginning to think that the wisest thing to do is to get the original blade that came with the razor stropped and in working condition and try it as it was intended. I know some have never had much luck with getting a modern blade working in the early models. Stunning razor, though, and I'm thrilled to have it. Even if it bites the hand that rescued it from the Bay. Ungrateful hunk of steel.
On the plus side - I at least chose the correct Stirling soap to start the month. Blood on Steel. Totally and completely appropriate, especially when lathered up with the brush from the meet up as well. Yeah, so I cut myself and bled. This is the 30 DC. I learned something, have a new project to work with (original blade) and, if nothing else, the Czar provided some bloody good entertainment to start the month. You're welcome.
