Thank you Danny. I didn’t think about pairing it with that brush. Next time I’ll try to remember.

No, I don't think so. She was pleasant & friendly when I started talking about building a cafe racer. She saw dollar signs. It was when we got to the "Which HD are you fixing to spend money on?" that things went sideways. They didn't get the chance to throw me out, I left on my own.
Ever heard of a "rat bike"?

Can't imagine why she'd be like that. Didn't you finish your Probation?

Thanks Jim! Sorry to drop you here at the end of all that above. I'm still trying to figure out if a Shavette Fu is a good or bad thing. We all know what Fuzzy @wchnu thinks so I find myself trying to balance the Universe.

Today's successful shave has been brought to you by:
Angle and sons. Purveyors of the angle.
What good is a sharp blade, if you don't find the correct angle? That was rhetorical, BTW.

I have mos def© at least 150+ shaves using an SR. I am finally starting to figure this out.
Well-honed, meticulously maintained, efficiently stropped. All important, no doubt.
    BUT...
without the correct angle, even the sharpest razor will not give you the results you want.
This goes for every razor, naturally.

I touched on this yesterday. I have been a face scraper with my straights for 8 months.
Yes, the buttering toast sound was music to my ears, but I could make the same sound with a piece of paper.
A flatter angle has been extremely beneficial in the reduction of stubble, especially on the chin and neck.
Even more important when you shave daily, as I do.
So, today was a good shave with lovely results.

I am going to finish this AV this week. Don't fret... I have a nice 6oz, even older bottle waiting in the wings.

very cool..auto strops were a single edge made by gillette when they merged with them ..that's the very short and somewhat inaccurate version..worth looking up.. s-l640 (1).jpg

It's good juice Paul. Distributed by Jeris, a division of Pinaud, marketed to barbers. It has a scent, but it's mostly alcohol splash and menthol. I've added a dribble to lather, and mixed or layered it with other AS that lacked cooling. Big bottles for a cheap price. Rated 4.8/5 stars!
