  2. I'd consider a Citizen to be roughly comparable to a Seiko. Here's a backgrounder: https://watchranker.com/seiko-citizen-watches-comparison/ I don't know enough about the brand to comment more specifically.

The bird with the 7 on it's chest and the checkerboard pattern on the dial is unique. It is interesting that only the hour/minute hands appear to be lumed...but the color looks a bit off. It could be the photo, but it looks like the dial may be stained on the left hand side. And the day and date are not perfectly aligned in the window. The strap doesn't appear to be original. I don't mean to be picky...just pointing out some things you may want to check out/consider if you're buying it to wear. If the seller is willing to provide a photo of the movement, it would tell you a lot about condition. Of course, if the price is right, I wouldn't overthink it.

You might also ask the Citizen guys here what they think: https://forums.watchuseek.com/f11/vintage-citizen-whatve-you-all-got-4556283.html

Do you have a model number? I'll be glad to take a look...
  3. Patrick, you sound a little warm and fuzzy!

    Rockwell Synthetic Brush
Stirling Blood on Steel SS and AS
I decided to follow Charlie's lead and take out my '68 Slim. I put a new Rockwell blade to get ready for the shave. The Rocky brush has never let me down facelathering any soap and tonight was no exception. I have only used the BOS a few times and the scent has really bloomed for me without blooming this soap. Yes, I did the paste method and did small increments of water to eventually get the lather to my standards. I really like this scent! The first time I used it, I was disappointed that the scent was not strong for me to appreciate it, but now it is a new day dawning for me with this soap. Did my normal 2.5 passes and brought the baby home. Finished with the matching aftershave and then applied Nivea moisturizing balm for men. Have a nice evening, gentlemen! 20190904_195710.jpg 20190904_195710.jpg

  6. Well, I do ride the cap, and that’s why we do the 30 day right? But damn, this flare tip is worse than my aggressive stirling head! And night and day from the Merkur. I’d think after 9 months of improving my technique that it wouldn’t all go by the wayside with a mild razor?

I’ll try again tomorrow. No big meetings!
  7. Thanks bro, I’ll test this tomorrow!

  8. I am glad we agree, Andrew! He got a double measure of the same advice. Sometimes, repeating things makes people want try it. There are exceptions to the rule. I won't mention names, but there was something about blooming. Mmm!
  9. Thanks. Will try! I want this razor to work. It was my wife’s grandpas daily driver!

  10. This community is awesome, but the 30 day thread is like a wild animal these days!

I’m going to fully examine the razor, because I’ve learned a lot and basically get no weeper DFS every day with my normal, razor. I can chase the baby with the 34c, but it’s not really gonna deliver. Feather blades don’t intimidate me at all. I get great shaves with them, until the vintage flare tip cut me up.
  11. Thanks Terry. We're about as settled, organized, and unpacked as we've ever been in a house. We recently unpacked some stuff that we packed up from two moves ago (12 years). We've also visited Goodwill and another place like it a few times this year. I've disposed of expired meds, e-waste, and now I have my sights set on a community recycling day in a couple of weeks to thin out the paint cans, etc. It makes a difference when you don't work 60 hours a week.

I'm right there with you on Feather Blades. I love 'em!

  15. I would also like to report on another matter:

I HAVE BEEN CHOSEN! The Veg agrees with me!

B&M 42 sample is in my rotation this month. I wanted a light, flowery scent and Maggards was out of the matching AS sample. I’d ordered a sample of the infamous Veg, and thought it a nice pairing for the flowery 42. It was Perfect! A delicate lilac and powder essence. No cat piss evident!

So happy. I’d always wondered and now I know. The Veg digs me, And I dig the veg!

  17. Nice setup Joe! My gf loves the scent from the BoS 2019 so I'm allowed to use it as often as I like .

Wild animal? Wait till MAYhem. :signs136:
  18. We should all thank Johnny Blueshaver for unintentionally prompting us to use any form of the word bloom.:shaver
