  2. Thank you, Jim.

They are sending me on a trip next week, so I figured it would be good to start officially before then.

I stuck with the same gear, and another nice shave resulted. Details: Third Pass Shaving Co. Redline soap & warm water for cleaning/preshave. Soaked brush prior to shave and kept T&H lather (solid performance and pleasant scent) warm in my brush scuttle. New blade. Didn't need to change it, but I'm a 3 and 0ut guy. Blades are cheap, and I have plenty. Two passes (mostly WTG & then mostly ATG) plus touch ups around mouth, chin & jawline. I gotta know when to stop shaving, else I get irritation...so this is it. This is something I've learned and relearned over the past couple of years 'round here. No shortcuts.

Payday included a near BBS shave with a couple of small weepers due to operator error. My attention was divided due to some stuff going on around the house this morning. Never the best scenario for an optimal shave. Still good, though. The new Feather blade did the job as it should...constantly reminding myself to stretch the skin while watching angle and pressure.

Finished up with a warm water rinse, alum (a little tingling), another warm water rinse, witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and a generous splash of Clubman. Felt a little warmth from the Clubman, but my face is comfortable and projects a very manly sort of handsome. I'm pleased overall with the result. Time to move on.

Hope all is well, gentlemen. Have a great day!

  12. The photo looks like it came from a "telephoto lens"(which my Dad used many times in his pictures...they were funny to look at, especially when he would take pix of people). Nice shot, Danny.

  18. i use witch hazel a..thayers original with alcohol and the lemon one as well.non alcohol thayers says toner on the bottle where as thayers with alcohol says astringent. i prefer them to alum blocks but will still use alum occasionally..that being said i have no set method. how the face feels after a shave dictates what's needed- ie alum, witch hazel ,balm ,aftershave,etc..some soaps today have a lot of moisturizing/skin healing qualities..
  19. Maybe you need a snurdle dipper to scoop it out .
