I always wondered why the blade manufacturers tell you on the package not to wipe the blades dry. I thought they might have feared injuries and lawsuits, or feared the blades would be dulled prematurely by towels. But I've read--and I'm convinced--it's because the coating on a blade is extremely thin and delicate, and can be wiped off with a towel. So I just pat my blades dry. That seems harmless enough, and I prevent corrosion.
