Modern Razor Day. I had a fantastically smooth, and quiet 2 pass shave tonight, that left me BBS. Zero issues. Some very nice steel used in this blade.

Razor- Hart Steel JA 1/4 Hollow
Brush- Wilkinson Sword Boar hair
Soap- ARKO/Sandalwood scented.
Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy

One of my favorite razors, this restored Bohler-Stahl required hours of work to get it back into the state you see depicted in the photo. The razor dates prior to the outbreak of WW2. Bohler-Stahl, an Austrian company started by two Jewish brothers, stamped the ‘Star of David’ (evident on the razor’s tang) on a number of items produced by the company (knives, tools, razors) until the late 30’s, early nineteen-forties when the public use of Jewish religious symbols was forbidden in the German Reich. The use of the Star of David on certain Bohler-Stahl products reappeared post-WW2 until sometime into the 1950s. This razor possibly may have been made in the early 1950s but setting an exact timeframe is problematic. Many companies at the time had begun moving away from straight razor production. Today the Bohler-Stahl company is a large steel conglomerate with international presence. Lovely piece of history.
