SE Sunday's Shave Cold Water Rinse Colgate Mug Shave Soap Jayaruh #30RS Gem Jr. Bar Lather Catcher Vintage Gem Cutlery SE CWR Barbasol AS My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Colgate Mug Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #30RS Brush. I did two passes with the Gem Jr. Bar Lather Catcher razor with a Vintage Gem Cutlery SE Blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
I got to try this stick thanks to mrconklin across the street. Wow it was another big ole bucket of Turkish delight. I paired it with my F to have a high class Sunday shave. Very much above my raising this morning. There is a video and short writeup of the soap here. http://theoriginalsafety2.com/thread/3769/another-great-turkish-shave-stick
If you can stand to listen to all the yappin at the start of the video you can see a Superior in action.
I have been MIA alot online lately. Things should slow down in a few weeks. Or at least get back to normal crazy.
I think we use the pat. Date to name a lot of razors. That style was made a very long time. So all are called "1912". The military set like I use to travel has model G3 on the box. At times when I use that set I use that name. Some use Gem Jr. There are different styles that have that name on them though.
It gets real complicated because the different versions shave very differently. My two squat head 1912s shave differently from each other, and both are miles apart from my "regular" 1912 and Damaskeenes. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
Another great Sunday shave and I like to use a "Schick" for the occasion if I'm not testing my harem of razors, Today I took out my newly acquired Schick M3 injector razor and it did not disappoint with a Personna injector blade. Razor: Schick adjustable injector M3 model MFG 1970-72 Blade : Personna SS PTFE injector (2) one of the sharpest blades I've used! Soap : Razorock Lavender- 1st Tub used up Brush: Razorock Noir 400 Preshave: wet the face + Aloe vera gel Post shave: Alum block + cold water rinse Post shave: FINE fresh Vetiver Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + Alum block indicated minor irritation = Have some great shaves!
One of my squat heads is extremely aggressive, the most aggressive SE I own. Both are more aggressive than my standard 1912 or Damaskeenes. I'll send you the aggressive one if you'd like to take it for a spin. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
Sat 7th / Sun 8th Sept Omega S100065 Mondial Tabacco Verde Sat - ATT SE1 - Schick Proline [ 3 ] Sun Occams V2/ No3 plate- Feather Proguard [ 4 ] La Toja A/S Lotion Away for the weekend and as not too sure what to use, took 2 Razors. On Sat quite please with the Bathroom lighting but as the mirror set too far back from the Wash Hand basin, it was not such a comfortable Shave, and the finished was Okay but not too special. On Sunday we were travelling home and staying at a different place. Probably the best Bathroom set up in a while good lighting and perfectly positioned mirror, so had a quick very smooth and comfortable Shave though I did not push for ultra close it could have been easily achieved. The Triumph of the weekend was the soap in its perfect travel container, it produced a good effective lather with little effort.
I picked my Gem minute man today with a brand new Gem SS PTFE, probably should have went with the Featherweight to tame the new blade first use. The shave was by no means bad, however the minute man is usually a smoother while still very efficient shaver. Overall it was a very enjoyable shave with Stirling soaps Pharoah's Dreamsicle.
I like it a lot. The hot water goes under the solid side and provides warmth for my brush and lather between passes. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
