20/30.
New blade (#6)
Prep'd today with hot water and soap followed by a Cold water rinse for a cold water shave.
So after yesterdays success loading off the puck for the bowl, i thought to try it again for the face.
Wet the brush, shake it out, a few drops of water on the puck and then go at it in small, slow, gentle circles. The theory being to use the tips of the brush to pull of the soap but not excite the soap so that it begins to lather. A few drops of water every now and then help soften the puck and pull the soap into the brush. That's the theory at least....
As for technique, again, focusing on pressure and i tried to match my wtg-xtg-atg passes with my beard growth (i normally do down- across-up). Also trying not to overbuff whilst pushing the razor a bit and working the angles to get a closer shave than i have been getting.
Results?
Well, i got (easily) 3 passes of lather from the brush!!!

So its only took twenty shaves, 3 brushes, blooming, not blooming, bowls, tears and tantrums and a few forum casualties along the way but i think i finally have cracked it!!!
The shave was good as well. No nicks, no drama. DFS/BBS.
I do think the razor likes a sfresh blade.
Finished off with Freshwood AS and balm and i am good for the day.
So tomorrow, i am going to push the lather to see how wet i can get it. Perhaps dialing up the water might dial down the cushion and help the shave. This means i have to be careful with pressure and angle but, know i have cracked the puck puzzle, i can move on to other parts of the shave.
A good day
