  1. Terrific shaves, Neal! In the 10+yrs of headshaving, I have only gone 1 full week without shaving. If I waited 4 weeks, I would have to use clippers before I would be able to headshave with a razor.

  2. One of the main reasons I started shaving my head was the lack of growth it was producing. And it's not getting any better. That thinning crop up there just doesn't cover like it used to nor grow as thick. So, a pain stick makes it easy if I skip a couple of weeks. Or four.

This is a busy thread lol. It great to read the replies and advice to one and all.

So today was building on the good result of yesterday. Same soap loading technique of yesterday except i learned that the speed at which you attack the puck isn't really important as long as you keep the brush steady. It's the agitation which creates the mess and stops you from loading fully.

3 full passes and more to spare for the brush today! Seems i have this sorted now. Great result tbh.

A warm shave today. I am feeling delicate!.
I really hydrated the lather today. The Cade soap can suck it up no problem and i got a very wet and slick lather. I think this help the shave as well, certainly, it was a much slicker shave. No tugging or gauling from the razor.

Finished off with a splash of Arko and i must say it was a very nice shave today. BBS-.

Another excellent shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. I did get a little tickle from the alum in one spot on my neck.

  10. Good menthol Monday.
    Nice shave this morning.
The AS splash is mentholed ok.
Added another splash of menthol splash, experiment #12, to add a little more coolness.

Shave number three with the Feather. Same blade as well.

What a lather, today, friends. The Stirling Bonaparte submitted and the Simpson Tulip,
with its delicate two band, super badger knot dominated.
From the get-go, super-shiny, not too thick, slippery lather covered the beard area.
Taking some sage advice from our local Jedi master, Obi-wan,

I lightened up my touch by about half. Imagine yourself tiptoeing through the tulips...
    That was Primo's approach. Feather-like...ninja-like.
Almost as if the blade wasn't touching the skin.
Removing the lather, not the stubble.
    No bad set-downs this morning.
    No scraping, just katana-like slicing.
The Bonaparte aftershave left me feeling in charge, almost "emperor-like".
Ready to take on the world.

    A Stirling SEptember

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick G4 '66' injector
    Brush: Surrey badger
Soap: Stirling Dirty South Shavers 2019 Meet-up
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Dirty South Shavers 2019 Meet-up aftershave

Easy shave with a nice, clean scent. Dirty South Shavers is a Facebook shaving group. Laid back group of guys with frequent visits from Rod at Stirling and Carrie at Soap Commander. They have a meet-up each year around Labor Day and this was the meet-up soap. The scent is based on Azzaro Chrome cologne. Light, clean scent. Performance was exceptional as usual. Great way to start the work week.

    Enjoy your day!
