After guilting myself into putting away my two piece RFB, I used my #44 set, a three piece RFB, today for the first time. Every razor is different & this was no exception. I want to get several shaves in with the 44 before I compare the two. My initial reaction: the #44 shaves closer, the #77 is smoother. But that may change after I learn the nuances of the 44.
