SEptember Stirling Piacenza~~Simpson CH3~~Dubl Duck~~Acqua di Parma Soaked the CH3 while showering and put about a teaspoon of water on the Stirling. After the shower, filled my sink with hot water and poured the water off of the puck into my shave bowl. Squeezed most of the water from the brush and started to load. Built the lather on the puck, using the water from my shave bowl. Went to the face. Needed just a bit more water to get the consistency I want. Downward passes, left and right with the DD, stretching the skin. Rinsed. Re-applied the lather and did an Ear-to-Mustache, left and right. Now I work on the chin. Shallow angle, light touch, followed by a down-to-up from the base of my neck to my jawline. Rinse. Re-apply lather. ATG left and right cheeks. Clean up chin. Cold water rinse. Thayer's Medicated Witch Hazel. Acqua di Parma for the finish. DFS+
Thank you Perry. Thank you Patrick. Some of my synthetics are so dense ( Simpson CH2 & Thater) that they take a long time to dry. Thank you Gary.
Thank you, Perry. The AdP is a classic, Italian scent. Ironically, my Italian wife is none too fond of it.
Yes, wearing glasses is a good idea, Terry! Do you have a Goodwill? There is nothing to hold the blade square besides your own judgement. Both glasses and Sobriety a must.
Very nice, Joseph. So, how close did Stirling come to the original? I know you are a fan of XXX and not the SV version so much...
Simply Stunning. Great photo and shave. It's hot here in Atlanta as well. Try to stay cool. Love the pop of color Gary. Bravo. Love the warm tones of the photo Jason. You have the soap on the run. Wonderful photo and shave report Joseph.
My wife thinks Gentleman is nice, which is as enthusiastic as she gets about any of the scents I have her sniff. I'll take it.
Stirling Single Edge September Went with the Glacial Lemony Orange soap and aftershave yesterday. Used the beloved Focus Dynamic R48 1/2 DE Single Edge Razor. 2 sprites of Stirling Triumph EdT since the GLO doesn't hang like Satsuma can. Wonderful easy and refreshing shave. I imagine you could formulate your own from the individual fragrances. My set of the Dirty South Shavers 2019 came in a little later than some of the other guys. Gave it the trial today with the same great hardware as yesterday. I found the scent pleasant similar to the Stirling Blu (dupe of polo blue) which will be 'on leave' from their lineup. I'll see how it holds up thru the day. Since the factory molested Wednesday soap isn't here at the Headroom house, it will have to be a PiacenzDay Wednesday tomorrow. No college courses required for lathering. Shave with liberty.
Congrats, Paul, on the shaving breakthrough! It's rewarding when you modify your technique and the shave improves as a result. Have a good day, my friend.
Beautiful set up and great shave, Joseph. I love the looks of the Dubl Duck razor with the fancy bolster and cracked ice scales. You've come a long way with straights. You've got me thinking about bringing out my Feather AC folder for a focus at some point.
Perry, can you provide a link to the article? At some point, I'd like to add another scent to my rotation for a total of three. I'd like to use one up first (one that I won't repurchase), so it may be awhile. My keepers would then be Aramis, Terre d’Hermès, and possibly Creed Aventus.
I saw these available locally. Haven't tried them yet. Reports say better than Chicks, but they don't have the "key" to use with Schick injectors later than a Type C. You'd have to unload the blades, then load them into an empty Schick type tuck. Risk of cutting fingers or dulling the blades. Anyone used them and offer a comparison? It might be nice to have locally available rather than shipped in supplies.
