If you hone this let me know how it goes and if the spine is straight. I'm looking at this razor to get to learn to hone so I have a razor I can hone dull hone over and over to get good at honing
If it were me, I would buy a Gold Dollar 208, or a ZY 430. Those have better geometries for a more consistent honing.
Ok, challenges. Get a wide variety of vintage blades, of varying geometries, for cheap. That should improve your skills, or make you throw in the towel. Learn to fix frowns, and small chips. This should speed things along. Use tape on the spines.
Friedrich Wilhelm Engels(FWE) No 32 5/8+ French point. Full Hollow I bought it for the blade, since I haven't seen an FWE with a French Point before. The blade is in very nice shape. Cost $17.82 total.
Croghan Cutlery Friedmont Ohio 5/8+ inch Full Hollow Looks like Swedish Silver Steel. Nice shape, with little hone wear on the spine. Needs a lot of cleaning. It still has dried soap on it. $12
Dilruba 215 Solingen Germany 13/16+ inches Extra Hollow Ground Excellent shape, with slight tarnish, and very little hone wear. It should look new when finished. $17.00
Rose's Master Rose's Barber Supply Co. Waterloo Iowa. 5/8th inch Full hollow What can I say, It cost $7 total. It has some hone wear, but should clean up nicely. It has Boker Scales on it. The scales alone are worth the price.

Custom Robert Williams I worked on this with Robert and Berni for about a year on design. A gift for my son upon graduating from Purdue in May. My son swam for 4 years at Purdue and swam since he was 7. 7/8 wavy Damascus steel looks like moving water. Birni took a picture of my son swimming and created a scrimshaw picture of him on the ivory scale and put a drawing of the Purdue logo on the other scale. They did beautiful work.
