    Be nice, he's new.
We've all been there, trying new things.
It's good that his ambition is there to get him going.
If he keeps up, he'll be there in no time.

    Sorry about the coffee.

  3. Perry, I'm glad to hear your students did great at the game! I stand in awe of your commitment to them!

I've got a huge lather scuttle that I've never used and probably never will. I also face lather; however, I use a small brush scuttle most days to keep my lather warm between passes.

I'm also thankful for this group of fine gentlemen for all the reasons you mentioned.

Have a great weekend, and I hope you're getting settled in your new house.

  4. Thanks Terry! There are so many variables that go into the number of shaves one can get on a DE blade: Beard type, the DE blade itself, shaver's technique and his waning performance tolerance, etc

  7. Would your brush scuttle happen to be a Dirty Bird Pottery one?

I think I told the story about my sister blowing up at many of the ER personnel the day our Mom was brought in after she broke her elbow from a fall. I arrived some time later, after she ended her shouting, but her son, my nephew Sam, was there for it. Nice example to set for your kid, sis! I think she got to a point where she couldn't stand the long wait in between nurse visits. I think that was my sister's way of "worrying" about our mom's accidents, etc. It isn't a healthy way, frankly. But again, I wasn't there for the blowup, thus I didn't know what the nurses were saying to HER.

  10. Good point, Terry. Clubman works great killing weeds along the fence line. You just have to use it at night so the HOA won't know.

  13. I know that, but new guys may not understand that we make fun of every one and everything, bar none.
The one thing about razor burn is that it happens before you can do anything about it. Like going round a corner on a bike, to fast. It's To late to slow down, just hope it doesn't hurt alot when you stop.

  14. Fuzzy, my scuttles came from Robert Becker. Last time I checked, he was selling on eBay. I am a Dirty Bird, so I should probably get one of them too.

I've got this big lather scuttle that may end up getting used for corn flakes:

I've got a couple of small brush scuttles. I show 3 below, but I passed the purple one on...

  15. I think i could improve my technique, so i'll join in. I don't have any se razors or stirling soaps, but i'll stick with my merkur and proraso soap.

  18. Everyone deals differently with stress, Paul, particularly when we're looking out for loved ones. I keep a cool head most of the time, but I can get riled up if I think a family member is getting mistreated. I'll cut everyone slack in the ER, and I hope they do the same for me. :)
