  2. Hey Joseph nice straight shave.
Seems like you got it going to town.
4 days huh? I can't stand it after 2 days.
My wife says I have a beard at 3 days.
Been a long time since 4 days.
    Wonderful.

    September 14

    Razor - Ever Ready Shovelhead
    Blade - CVS Carbon SE
    Soap - Stirling Bonaparte
    Brush - Jayaruh #230
    Post - Alum

If I thought I was tired last night I don't know what to call tonight. Up around 5 to get ready to have my innards analyzed, then off to lay in that infernal tube of torture and then a couple of hours to get some coffee before spending eight solid hours delivering all over the STL area. Home to dinner, an hour of Carnival Row on Amazon, and finally it's shave time. My wife kept telling me I looked tired and when I looked in the mirror I had to agree. Well, let's grab the Stirling Bonaparte to add some strong but very nice (in my opinion) scent to the process. The JR230 turned it into lather like magic and the Shovelhead and carbon blade provided smooth and extremely noisy passes. No blood, no issues, just a very high quality shave. Of course you're expecting me to tell you it reinvigorated me but I won't lie. I'm beat. But I'm a very classily clean shaven beat, and that's all that matters. Hope you all have a great Sunday!

Haven't used Nivea cream in awhile. Nor have I used a carbon steel blade either . Very refreshing shave . The Gbar was awesome as well. Cvs blade was very smooth.

  13. SEptember but still not Stirling, yet.

    Sugarbowl of Frankensoap goodness
    Certifyd brush / 30mm Tuxedo
    Suribachi bowl and cool water
    Univinlions kami-shavette
    Feather AC Professional blade
    Gillette NEW Long Comb
(didn't look to see which blade)
    Cuba Prestige Des Champs
SOTD 09142019 ABT#7.gif Just can't set down the sugar bowl, it keeps giving great lather. Mixed it up with a new-to-me brush. I think Keith @Enrico may have restored it using the biggest Tuxedo synthetic knot I've ever seen. First pass with the gold shavette, second and third using a beautiful vintage Gillette I received in a trade with J.D. @Jrdelgado. Got bit right in the middle of my chin from a bad set down, but not from the open blade. The DE is a "safety" razor but ya still have to handle them with care. Very little blood, no stitches. DFS with the exception of my lower neck. Still reading? Curious about that post shave product? Picked it up at a local Ladies Beauty Supply, but they are available from Amazon. The aluminum tube is a nice touch for the cigar shaped pump spray. It's the scent that caught me - "a mix of mint and coffee combined with lavender and caramel" Bill @Edison Carter would call them Estrogen Units. Mine all want to take this stuff for their own use.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

Wasn’t planning on shaving until tomorrow, but SWMBO informed me we were heading over to some friends. A hurried, but pleasant 2 pass’er ensued with this razor on day 4. This soap came as an unexpected sample with my Zenith brush order...it was a really nice lather with a pleasant if not super memorable scent. Took a ton of water, which I usually take as a good sign. This Stirling scent is nice as well...potentially Husqvarna inducing...
On to a different SE for Monday.
Have a great day tomorrow, all!

Ahh, I'll drop a special thanks to J.D @Jrdelgado then! The "sugar bowl" is a covered ceramic dish I picked up from a thrift store. It's not filled, but has a layer of assorted bits and pieces of shave soap. The scent is a mélange of all the components. Sort of cologne like, not quite barbershop. I got to using it a number of shave back and just can't put it down. There it is behind that ratty old Slim to the left.

  19. Welcome Daniel! I see the 30 Day Crew is already offering what we do best - coaching and cheer leading. Unlike the Shave of the Day thread, we don't just list our gear. If someone has a good shave and can explain why, they share. If they have problems they share that, too. Sometimes there's an easy fix but often it's small adjustments developed over a period of time. That's why 30 days is important. For new shavers with limited gear we like to encourage you to stick with that set up. As long as the razor isn't damaged we'll offer our help to teach you the techniques that will give great shaves. Once you conquer these easy techniques, trying a new to you razor will be small adjustments. That theme of Stirling soaps and Single Edge razors is something we do for the veteran 30Day Crew members to mix things up. Each month there's a theme but those are not at all mandatory. Your present set up is great. Good chance several of us have the very same or similar gear and can be inspired to shave with you! So when you give your Shave Report don't skip the details. No such thing as too long of a post. Tell us about your lather - hot or cold water, face or bowl, thick or thin. Give the play by play on 1st, 2nd, 3rd passes. Share how the post shave products sooth or burn. We've all been where you are. Most of us didn't discover wet shaving until later in life so you have a great head start!

We tend to do the first name thing here - I'm Rick.
