With some razors, I will try 2 passes eliminating the WTG pass and starting ATG. I am not sure it saves enough time to be worth the trouble.
September 16, 2019 Cobra Classic Feather Pro Simpson CH2 Synthetic Savonniere du Moulin Fine Fresh Vetiver Guerlain Vetiver EdT Why are weekends so short? I will finish the month rotating through my favorite synthetic brushes, my Simpson Chubby 2 synthetics. The CH2 is just a joy to use face lathering with its soft tips and generous backbone. The brush is just a lather making machine. Three passes, touch ups and buffing my neck ended in a drama free BBS shave with no nicks, weepers or irritation. A splash of Fine Fresh Vetiver followed by a spritz of Guerlain Vetiver and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a Great Monday.
My WTG pass, the one I skipped, does knock out quite a bit of ATG in the patches where my hair growth pattern swirls. Not a bad shave but I have a few spots that are pretty sandpapery.
September 16 Gillette NEW LC Voskhod (1) JR #160 w/Omega '98 boar knot Truefitt & Hill Sandalwood Alum, Thayers WH, & USB This will be my fourth shave so far this month with the NEW LC. Paired with a Voskhod, it always delivers fantastic results. I will skip the aftershave since I'm going to see my sweet kiddos today. Have a fantastic Monday, gentlemen.
As I began my shave this morning, I recalled that this is my first shave with the UPDATED Central Texas Soap. Now, there's no Bentonite Clay. But I still have the one that HAS the clay, too, thus it will be fun to compare after I pull out the Grandpa's Barbershop(with the clay). I really got some nice loading power with the Jayaruh#59 and the "new" soap. I had to scrape just as much off the sides as that from the center itself(of the puck). First use, and already it looks like I've had 10 shaves with it. Got it on my face&neck with pleasurable ease The aftershave went on a bit hard, thus I felt I'd better wait til it gets colder(and my face&neck drier)to repeat with this, although I'd like to use ot again tomorrow. It's calmed down some now. Very nice leather scent. Week-end Rodeo from Central Texas Soaps. Buck'em Bronco!!!
SEptember 16th Razorock Black Hawk w Feather Pro Sudsy Soapery Jack Frost WD HM Badger/ Cypress Handle Thayers Stirling Autumn Glory AS Way behind on the thread again. Next up in the SE rotation is this Blackhawk. I still want to add weight to the handle; maybe I’ll have time tonight. Whipped up a nice lather and had 3 ‘meh’ passes. Decent results, but I think this blade is done. Have a great day all!
