Great shave today! I keep remembering why I like my Karves. SOTD 9/16/19 RAZOR: Karve with OC-C plate BLADE: Voskhod PRE-SHAVE: Cold water rinse and glycerine soap rub into whiskers BRUSH: WCS Best Badger SOAP: Stirling Obsidian Glacial POST-SHAVE: Thayers Lavender Witch Hazel followed by L’Occitane Cade Balm
SOTD Stirling SEptember 16th Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap RazoRock ECO Crown Super Stainless WWB Talleyrand (26mm, Frigate Class) Stirling Deep Blue Sea soap and AS Half way through the month and I finally got in my first SE shave. The RazoRock ECO doesn't use a typical SE blade though, instead is uses ½ of a DE blade. The head geometry of the ECO makes it's feel like a traditional SE in use, however. I was able to shave with a very shallow angle with the ECO. Additionally head of the razor does not introduce any bend to the blade instead it is clamped flat in the head. Despite this, and having some significant blade reveal, I didn't notice any chatter and the blade felt quite stiff, much like a traditional SE. The Crown blade struggled a little bit on the first past with my heavy weekend growth but after that was quite smooth and after three passes the baby was in the house! My face felt really good after this shave. Being able to shave at such a shallow angle really keeps any irritation at bay. I finished off with a healthy splash of the DBS AS and I'm feeling and smelling like a million bucks on this fine Monday morning. Have a great day my friends! Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
Picked up the thread from late last night, apologies for missing anything before that: That product resides in the front of my den...a good deal for all. One man's Chevette is another's Corvette.... Hope your week goes well, Neal. YMMV: The Port-au-Prince is just about the only Stirling scent I moved on from before it was done. Very nice! I've never heard of that soap before. Fantastic photo, Jim. I used the same 'meh' expression myself today. Super shave, Terry. Glad to hear you can get those blades modified well enough to work well. Love that B1, Perry! Hope your week goes well. Nice combo and pic, Daniel! Love, love, love that brush, Clint! PS- I doubt that razor will ever flee your den with your imminent reduction )), but put me at the top of the list if it ever does... Great pic, Charlie! The NEW LC is simply a fantastic shaver. Your new pic styles continue to impress, Gary, as do your new razors. Awesome! I hope your new house closes soon, Jim. Those are very stressful situations for sure. I also trust the new job is going well. Love that Karve OC! The handle looks nice as well, Jeff. The razor sounds really good, Andrew. The blues in the pic are outstanding, btw!
Thank you, Gentlemen. Clint- I had a great weekend. Today? Not so much...I'm just trying to make sure no one throws any tires in the dumpster fire...
