I have two girls as well. It didn't get any easier for me as they got older. Still get the drama but they cost more money.
Thanks! Break can be a good thing for sure if the irritation gets really bad. I remember when i tried Arko, got a really bad rash from it. Couldn't shave for a week. And i learned not to try anything new straight on my face.
Thanks Keith. I had done the bevel on the convex arks some time back. It was sharp but not smooth. The new coticule is also convexed. I didn't add that to my original message cause they laugh at me trying to hone a razor on a stone lapped to convex. Well, I couldn't get anything on flat stones, no matter what I tried. All good experience in my book. I just wanna figure out how to get what makes me happy.
Great description and shave MrEE. Cool setup of gear and Proraso! Menthol Monday Madness....Proraso style. Nice color isolation Gary! Love the razor Danny. Hope all is going well!
\ Thank you, Blair! The Lemony Orange was a limited scent. Jared (@PickledNorthern - won't let me tag him) got up some interest in The Stirling Exchange thread and convinced Rod to make a special limited edition. It's a nice scent. Glad to hear from you, Randy! Injectors are sweet and easy tools.
Don't envy that commuting....Nice shave and PAA setup. Great combination Jeff. The Karve looks like a popular modern DE with this group! Great details Andrew. Love the setup as well. That sure is BLUE! Great report Joe. Sounds like it was a great shave.
Yeah....I'm finding this out as well. Where's the fast forward button (not really, but ya think about it sometimes ). I didn't have any reaction to Arko, other than it was not slick enough (with my water) for straight shaving....and I rarely use a DE or SE lately. But...we found another use. It worked really well as a hand soap in the kitchen/garage bathroom. Family didn't mind the smell either. Finally finished it off.....put the puck of Williams in there yesterday.
Thanks Joseph on all accounts. The VDH is a very light razor and is very mild. It is not very difficult to get a BBS shave with it, but my technique has to be on for it to be so. Also, using a relatively new blade doesn't hurt either. Lol!
I really enjoy both girls a lot now that they are in college and grad school. It's interesting to see how they approach life. I miss them and enjoy them visiting but I am not sure I am ready for all the estrogen to move back in the house.
Thats a good way to use the soaps that don't work too well for shaving. I have actually washed my hair with shaving soap a few times
