Thanks! The brush is made by Semogue, but it has a Razor Master (finnish soapmaker) logo. 22mm knot, 55mm loft
Wonderful shave and sounds like a great day ahead, Charlie! I haven't tried shaving my neck yet. May have to give it a go. I get a haircut every few weeks to keep the mop on my head presentable so I don't think it gets too bad but I don't know for sure,.I can't see it.
I dunno tbh. Use a rubbish blade or one that doesn't suit and you don't forget it too quickly. I believe in shaving synergy. What you use and what you are have to gel. Quality stuff is usually more compatible and poor stuff less so but not always the case. Personally, i cannot use Wilkinson Sword blades no matter what i do. They always cut me up. However, I can shave from here to eternity with Rapiras and i have yet to find something they won't work for me in. Mixing extremes such as a sharp Feather blade in an aggressive razor such as the Muhle R41, or a mild blade like a Derby in a mild razor like the 34c and you are going to get erratic results. Yes, technique trumps tools, but at some point in the equation, the numbers stop working. Most shavers have a favourite blade and i think there is good reason for that. However, in all things with this shaving nonsense, YMMV!
I'll be curious to see if your opinions change as time goes on. I know mine have in the nearly two years I've been wet shaving. Feathers are my favorite blades and I'll use them in any of my razors. I also use Derby Extras regularly and in any razor. Not my favorite but doesn't affect the outcome of the shave. Like you said, it's a YMMV thing.
Chiseled Face Midnight Stag is different. The kind of soap you try on a dare, but I will be buying some because I'm like that. 4th day in a row with a SR. One small nick, no irritation. The Proraso AS was a change of plan as my original plan was to use Axe Dark Temptation, but it became clear it wouldn't complement the Midnight Stag.
Fantastic shave Charlie! Sounds like a fun time and some good food are headed your way! Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
Gem Micromatic ClogPruf Gem Stainless PTFE Semogue BC Mistura Stirling Orange Chill Stirling Orange Chill ASB A very nice shave this morning. It is getting a bit easier to deal with my hand numbness while shaving. 2 passes, no weepers or irritation. Close and comfortable. I finally put a few pics of bike ride together. If interested, here you go. https://imgur.com/gallery/4nrgfW9 Enjoy your day.
Nice shave, Charlie! I do not do a blind neck line trim. I am not that good and would have a very jagged line back there is I did.
Thank you, Jimbo. Don't tell Dr. Mrs. Primo, but I use her disposable Trac II on the back of my neck in the shower... Thank you, Jason. Thanks, Clint!
Like others, I wonder what your thoughts are in time. I had blades that I swore I would never use again, and now it doesn't matter what I put in my razor. I will admittedly avoid some of the Chinese blades @NCoxSTL has stated are just terrible, but when I buy blades now, it is either out of curiosity of whatever is cheap when I look to buy. I have found that a blade is really pretty much just a blade.
