I had almost the same experience as a kid. Either this is a common rite of passage or we are all just idiots... or both.

Very cool, Jason. Looking forward to seeing what you create.

Awesome Patrick! Glad they made it! Also I think that's the quickest anything I've ever sent north of the border has been delivered!

I think it was a common rite of passage. One that today's kids will probably never know. Like untangling the cord on the telephone or rewinding a cassette tape.

    Razor - Gem Micromatic Clog-Pruf
    Blade - CVS Carbon SE
    Soap - Stirling Mountain Man
    Brush - The Canuck
    Post - Alum

All righty then. Let's shave, shall we? Took last night off to let the minor cut heal a bit more before pulling out the next razor in line. It's the Micromatic Clog-Pruf. Close relative to the OCMM. The difference? No open comb. Duh. I have generally had more issues with this one cutting me than the OC version, hence the extra caution about the cut issue. I chose Stirling Mountain Man with the Canuck brush for a great scented and quality lather, of course. This razor, in spite of the closed comb, feels more "bladey" to me and, in fact, it did reopen the cut just a bit even with the extra caution I used. Oh well. It's SE shaving. It's a bit more bold. No other issues as three passes went by smoothly and noisily with the fresh carbon blade. Alum was mostly quiet. A tingle here and there but nothing to get upset about. All in all a great shave and a great near-BBS finish. I can't complain.

We have ten days left in September. Yeah, it's gone by that quick. On pace for over 9000 posts. Man we talk a lot. But I wouldn't have it any other way. Enjoy your weekend!!

Thanks Charlie. I'm a welder by trade but I sure love doing a bit of everything. When I hear the word "cement " my heart races .

    Thank you Jim.

Thank you Jim. He is a generous generous gentleman.

I cannot say enough good about him Joseph. He's been very good to me .
    Thank you Jason

    Thank you Clint.

Thank you Rick.Actually had a leak at this house and my own . Steel roof going on mine when i get the time . On a stone chimney like his its hard to seal around such an old and uneven surface. Got ot down to a drip now . Frustrating but I'll win the battle.

I was surprised as well Andrew. Really loving the soap and the blades were a pleasant surprise as well. Thank you.

Patrick, we had a brick chimney on our first house that was a persistent leaker. It even leaked after we replaced the flashing. We finally applied sealer to the brickwork, and the leaks stopped. The old bricks were quite porous, and they could absorb a lot of water. Maybe sealing the stone on your chimney would help. I agree, this is a very frustrating problem. You'll get it. :)

I'm up very early this morning for another shave with my NEW LC. We're taking containers of partially used paint, weed killer, fertilizer, etc. to a waste and electronics recycling/disposal event this morning. We're helping our Dear Aunt in preparation for a move to assisted living, and we're taking some of our stuff too. These events are few and far between 'round these parts. This is one is ~50 miles down the road, but it's well worth the drive. I imagine they'll collect a lot of Clubman today. :D

We finally got some rain yesterday, the first since the beginning of September. We really needed it. In contrast, I hope our 30 DC friends on the Gulf Coast are managing OK with the rain coming in from Imelda.

    Have a great weekend!
